it's been a while since this topic has been brought up.
use it as a chance to see if there is someone you might know from years past.

1968-1997 Utah (knew most everyone)
November 20, 1997 woke up and walked out (after 3 hours on the internet!)
as a loyal jw, i was ready for my whole world to come to an earth-shattering halt and for life as i knew it to be gone...at the hand of my loving god.
i would sit in school in my mental bubble and numb myself to the world around me.
i grew older and entered the adult world and was aloof in my thoughts that i could not attach myself to any workmates or neighbors and put out my hand in friendship as they could be dead tomorrow and i would have to be ok with that.
Seeing so many new ones on the board, I feel the need to bring this up again and thank them for their presence. And thank you to all the old friend here too.
Happy Holidays to our online family!
i noticed jg nat started a thread kind of similar, but dealing with elders .
my wife helped me come up with this thread with some good ideas here.
there are a few gems that witnesses use as excuses, phraseology they use to make excuses for their beliefs.
I have argued until I am blue in the face and deduced you cannot reason with unreasonable people.
NOW: I just grin. If they are talking to me, they have seedlings of doubt they want me to bring up so they can hear themselves argue against me/it/their own consciences. If I let it lie, it grows.
hi friends,.
some of you may know of the year that i've had and my exit from the religion along with all the trauma that this brings.. i've been seeing my counselor for about 5 months now, and yesterday, during my session, her eyes filled up with tears, and she said, she feels i've made the breakthrough.. i was reading a thread a week or so ago, in this site and a book called toxic parents was recomended.
well i bought that book, and started to read.
I also read this book years ago. I read that either you "pass it back", or "pass it on". Then and there I made the phone call and passed it all back. Starting new. And I realized that I had to keep reading and reexamining the rest of my life to make sure that I had really moved on and was leaving the past in the past.
my jw friend told me this from the meeting for service last week:.
one of the "sisters" told the group that she had spoken to (dave h*********) one of the bigwigs in this area, about the report.
he told her he had been to monroe prison, nearby, and asked about the pedophiles there and if any of them were jw's.
They're not in the prisons. They're sitting in the halls grinning.
do you find it difficult to know what to get for your beloved for christmas?
(assuming you celebrate it!)..
my wife says to me "don't get me anything, i'd rather we saved the money to get away next year.".
I like the idea of buying an "experience" too. Memories are worth more than stuff. This year I would like a porchswing....weird, I know....but alot of memories could gather there.

PLEASE PASS THIS ON!!! File this on behalf of your little ones NOW! Give it to hospitals, doctors, attorneys, states advocates...anyone! Attach a copy of your certified legal papers stating you have legal or joint legal custody of the minor. Speak for those who can't! The JW who has your child when an accident of situation arises WILL NOT call you! You may not have time to respond or get a court order then. A judge would feel safer backing you and the life of your child with this:

please find below a basic form that can be modified for your particular circumstance.
this should be filed with schools, attorneys, doctors, hospitals, etc.
as a counter to the no blood card.. .
PLEASE file this before another child dies. If you have legal or joint legal custody of a minor, please file this! Be sure to include legal certified copies of your legal papers stating your rights. The JW guardian WILL NOT phone you in the event of a crisis! Think ahead!
a 14 year old can refuse a blood transfusion.

Please go to the bottom of this page and click on the legal document to be filed in behalf of your little ones. I made it to be filed when you have legal custody of your minors but may not always have physical custody. The JW parent WILL NOT call you in case of an emergency. File this with hospitals and doctors in advance. Before something like this happens again!!!
