Welcome to the board!!!
I have had experiences with depression and Post Traumatic Stress Syndrom also stemming from Witness background and rearing. Funny, the elders told me there was no such thing as PTSD and now there is an Awake featuring this on the cover. I did see a psychologist who informed me that the MAJORITY of her clientelle were Witnesses or ex-Witnesses. That made sense and was also a comfort in a strange way.
Please feel free to e-mail me also. I am here if you need.

Thank you for the thread. I have been trying to organize a file to have on hand and this fits the bill.
I, too, was surprised to see the headline announcing the local District Convention, "Witnesses Taught to Love." From what I can gather , the program was filled with advise on who and how to hate. I think I will forward this to the reporter that covered the story, I know her.
Thanks again for reminding us all. Hindsight is 20/20. -

From the files by request: JWs & 'discipline'

I had almost forgotten some of the things I witnessed as a witness. Personally my mother owned a "plastic" spoon so it would sting more. I was once beaten black and blue from my knees to my waist for telling my uncle when my birthday was when he asked. We had only been witnesses for about 6 months and I didn't know that this was tantamount to celebrating my birthday with the pagans.
One brother in our hall brought hot chilis to put on the tongues of any of his children who whispered during meetings. He would also poke them in the eyes if they looked around. This is the same man who, rather than cut firewood, would simply shove a tree in the fireplace and leave it hanging out the door shoving it in when it burned off. I hear he has had 3 wives now. Wonder where he is? -

He has told lies about me to all my old friends for moral support and I can't defend myself. Does anyone have any solutions to the brain-washing of your children right under your nose? My ex calls and prays for them at night for Jehovah's protection as I am now considered apostate. He also uses the children to monitor my associations and internet activity!

I helped on several. My "trademark" was to sneak in before the first meeting and put up all kinds of floral arrangements and no one ever knew who did it. I also planted bulbs in the fall and no one figured that one out either.
Maybe I should get my shovel and repossess some of that apostate flora and fawna? -

Please Respond To Survey! 25 more needed please.
by Big Jim init seems like to me the majority of people who are in the truth, are were in the truth was a result of either a family member are a friend witnessing to them and not many seem to have been found in the door to door work.. from my years of associating with the borg i cannot recall many coming in the truth from the door to door work.. how were you sucked in?
for me it was my aunt who has now even though i am not disfellowshipped decided to write me out of her will to the tune of about $150,000.00 (maybe i should hang around a couple more years)dont think i will.. please respond .
thanks.

My parents came in by D2D when I was 4. My mother was just learning English and my father was looking for something non-Mormon. I left at 35.

We just had a girl (red-head) We named her McKenna Rain. Her sister who we lost was named Willow Rain. It was raining when they both were born. Also like Emma Leigh for a girl. Sara Leigh and Amanda Lynn were suggested by the other girls but were a cake and an instrument!
