I have thought this over in the past few months and come to this conclusion:
I have never come across a stranger group of people, true mavericks. After growing up in a small town and being the only Witness to go through the public school system and bashing heads with every authority in town, I have learned to be a true to what I believe, although at times I let others tell me what that was. I don't fear what anyone thinks of me. I guess I'm grateful for that.

What about the poisitve things learned?
by aud8 inwhat about the biblical truths explined by the witnesses?
yes there are many things wrong with the organisation, but they did get a lot right - trinity, hell etc etc is anyone grateful for some of the teachings they received whilst being a witness?.

Is it right to get people out of the org?
by sleepy ini gather that most on this forum would agree that jehovah's witneeses do not have the truth they cliam to have.. but to what degree do we inform friends and relatives who are still belivers of this.. for many (assuming they come to the same conclution) it would come as a relief , but for others could it do more harm than good?.
for instance an elder in my hall recently died from cancer which he had suffered from for about a year.. what kept him going and happy through pain and suffering was the belief that he was in the true religion favored by god and would recieve a resurection.. imagine the heart break he would had suffered if people had convinced him that the society was a sham.. imagine others say like my parents who are in their 50's and have no pension who look forward to the future paradise.. would it be right for me to covince them that thier dreams for for future are all flawed.. i am still in my 20's and i'm not the type to get depreesed and all that, but i have to admit to being gutted when the truth dawned on me that all my hopeds and beliefs were likely wrong.. but can we be certain to such an absolute degree that all that witnesses belive is false?.
do we really have the right to preach with coviction to others that they are wrong, just like we preached when we belived?.

I personally am eternally grateful that someone went out on a limb to talk to me. After the first 5 minutes, 35 years of beliefs melted away and I was able to see beyond the lies. The puzzle finally fit.
I was bashing myself endlessly and hopelessly trying to make everything work and just needed someone to "pull me out of the snowdrift" kicking and screaming all the way.
I now feel an overwhelming commitment to my family still in the Borg and I will not stop until the last one is out. I hope they would do the same for me.

3 of the Slimiest positions in the WT Org.
by D wiltshire ini think three of the slimiest jobs you can have in the wt org.
1) public relations; (you have to tell lots of 12, 14, truths).
four thumbs down.. 2) writer; (you have to be able to slant the truth or someone will replace you).. 3) legal department, ( lie with zeal for your side, and instruct others how to lie with zeal).. .

Challenge for bigboi:
Take any one of our children for a day with $30 in your pocket. Hint: Better skip the mall. Did we include a larger car and more fuel to run kids around...no economobile will work with 6 passengers. -

Why do elders come unnanounced.......
by ISP inyeah, like these guys never make appointments.
just stroll up when it suits them and not you.
is it ignorance or simply a matter of discourtesy?

Wolves in sheeps clothing rarely blow trumpets.
I did receive one memorable "shepherding call". Two elders showed up to "encourage" me out of pioneering since I fell short 3 hours of my 90 the month my second daughter was born. Bless them. -

Bigboi:
Just a note:
School lunch alone for a child is $150. That is one of three meals plus snacks a day. And we all know all that is in most bachelor's fridges is beer and salsa. I agree that children do not pay rent or mortgages but to support a child they need a place under a roof and a 4 bedroom house or apartment costs considerably more than a studio. -

DATELINE - Tuesday 7/17/01
by Amazing inlast night nbc dateline aired a program about a man named barjonah who murdered young boys for several years in the commonwealth of massachusetts.
he managed to slip through the system several times, and ended up being 'dumped' on the state of montana, where he again committed murder.
the program also brought out that the barjonah was a sexual predator, and also suggested that he may have 'eaten' these young boys.. the purpose of the program was to show how even the criminal justice system does not always serve us well, and children continue to be harmed, either sexually or murdered or both.. ther question is: if the courts have this much difficulty in their procedures, can we now understand how weak and pathetic the watch tower society's procedures and processes are?

The producer of Dateline phoned me this morning. I filled him in on my story and he requested tapes of my court hearings. Watch for the one where my mother states, "he is not a child molester, she was over 12"!!!
Sounds like the filming is going well and there are many who are helping with this issue. -
