Governing Body Obesity
by Calebs Airplane innot sure if this subject has been covered recently but i thought i'd make this observation anyway.... i remember when the word "gluttony" was a frequently mentioned sin in public talks, in the wt publications, in convention talks, etc.. in fact, in the 80's and 90's it wasn't unusual to hear the words "gluttony" and "disfellowship" mentioned in the same sentence.
i haven't been to a meeting in over 5 years, so i'm not sure if they still harp on the subject of gluttony or other excesses.
but i can't help but notice how much heavier the gb 2.0 has become compared to previous regimes.

Is it Wrong to Doubt or Even Disagree With the GB? The Watchtower Reasoning....
by freemindfade inthis would be a good one for jw apologist who scream and panic with anyone who feels the moral direction of the wt publishing company has gone astray.
a comment at the bible highlights last night blew my mind, here is the article that was referenced.

How to prove the congregation cash grab?
by Lemonp ini was discussing with a relative the cash grab made by the org.
when i mentioned it that the same repayments are still required indefinitly, i got a parroted response from the may broadcast; that is you only have to pay what you can afford.
obvoiusly the boe letter makes it very exact what amount should be paid.. relative seems super in, elder.

Show him the damn letter. He cant prove where you got it. Make something up. Another elders whos a friend shared it with you or whatever works but call him on it. -

I didnt take it as him trying to out me so much as him trying to invalidate my views and experiances on bethel life by "proving" i wasnt there.... He failed, obviously. As for outing me.... I just dont care. It was 20 years ago and although im a non believer/fader i cant be worked up about being outed. Screw them all. -

BURNING AMBITION by Jehovah's Witness YOUTH: "I want to clean toilets in Bethel for the rest of my life."

I dont know terry.... Your experiance is certainly legitimate and representative of some young ones, but in the greater washington metropolitan area, bethel service is viewed in a decidedly passe way. I have heard young ones comment over and over that they have no interest in bethel. They may half way piosneer but evem that seems to be more for parents than anything else. I tend to think its largely local phenomenon. If its talked about and built up locally kids get pie in the sky ideas about it. If its not talked up they dont see the appeal. Human nature really i suppose.. -

Potential for new meeting?
by campaign of hate ini've mentioned it in a few threads, but i'd like to make it a thread of it's own.. i'm going to make the prediction the gb will schedule a new meeting once a month, starting in jan 2016, for watching the jw broadcasting program.
at the moment it's up to each cong to organize a viewing, but soon the gb will take over the arrangements.. i make this assumption based on the fact that they know that a substantial quantity of pubs are not tuning in every month.. by scheduling a meeting once a month, it's easier for the gb/elders/organisation to gauge how many people are watching, and to make sure everyone is fully indoctrinated with what the gb are saying.
it will also keep the rank and file busy busy busy.. if i was a cult leader, that's what i would do.

_Morpheus
Nope, no way it will be split in half. The GB does not share face time with anyone. In fact, what i could easily see happening is once a month doing a public talk by the GB/heavy weight and then broadcasting a WT study as well like they did on mondays at bethel -

Nope. Not gonna happen logistically. They are already packimg the "auditoriums" to the max for the existing meetings...
HOWEVER what they could and will, I predict, is use the video crap for the sunday meeting. Best of both worlds. Full on cult indoctrination by the leaders, no additional time needed.
