The problem remains that one side dosent want peace and the other ignores the fact that their country was carved out of nothing little more than a half century ago. Until that changes its all irrelevant. These are millennia old grudges between goat herding families that stem from their imaginary shared heritage to an imaginary ancestor who they want to believe was the great grandfather x100 of either the messiah or a huge heretic. Talks of peace have always been pipe dreams of dim wits who refuse to see the situation for what it really is.. theres as much hope for peace in the middle east as their is for the wt to collapse. -

Well the jw’s have an explanation for that (of course). They say that in using the expression ‘not called to mind’ its denotes not that we would have forgotten but that things are so good we no longer dwell on the past pains. It makes a certain amount of sense. As humans we make it through tough times and remember things as “the good old days” even when the old days wernt that good.
It dosent make humans anything more than pawns, mind you, but that particular scrupture is pretty easy to explain.

Its a tough call, honestly. Id like to think i was a good guy as an elder, always tried to be understanding and helpful, and id bet that every former cult middle manager on this forum would say the same... but in the end we were cult middle managers and ultimately were applying cult rules. No matter how cool we tried to be we were still cult middle managers.
The “cool” part was the human in us, not the elder.

by Half banana init is not “preach the good news” nor is it “believe in jesus and get saved” neither is it “believe in the governing body of jehovah’s witnesses and get saved” although in practice they do teach this.
no, everything they claim depends on a belief in another doctrine which logic decrees cannot be found in the bible.
the leadership of jehovah’s witnesses put absolute faith in a protestant doctrine which is given a latin name, sola scriptura, meaning “by scripture alone”.. good evidence of the governing body believing in the primacy of this doctrine was when being questioned by the australian royal commission, they resorted to the ‘authority’ of scripture to defend their stance on having “two witnesses” when they are investigating child abuse cases.throughout the hearing they paraded their naive trust in the bible as the highest possible authority proudly ignoring the fact that most people regard it as having been superseded by modern scientific evaluations of what is true.. .
