Hotdog "rumour" - need verification
by Fay Dehr inin view of the recent jw broadcast warning about "rumours", i wanted to verify what has repeatedly been spouted by a certain am3:.
"i saw bodies resembling human hotdogs" (or words to that effect).
i have no idea where to begin, so perhaps some of you across the pond in usa may know some useful search tools?

Why do so many that leave wind up coming back?!
by nowwhat? ini have seen so many that have left.
and their life turned into a dumpster fire.
most do not live the average life of living in suburbs, raising a family.

April 2018 Broadcast - normal weird stuff
by Listener inwe hear a story regarding the life of thomas and emma.
she states that "when thomas and i first learnt that i was pregnant, we were both really shocked" she doesn't explain why they were both really shocked but it seems an odd reaction unless they were using the safest contraception invented or hadn't been told about the bird and the bees.two experiences that touched the heart of gb sanderson were as follows -.
in russia a jw was jailed for 6 months, the jailers did everything to try to undermine his faith, which included violence.

It’s always some Russian brother in prison, some African crossing a snake infested river or someone in Malawi that had their house taken from them . Mostly embellished bullshit to further the governing body’s agenda.
So true. And all to make you feel bad about a minimum wage job and eeking out a living. Be greatful and give more!

Movie-goers can be fickle (great movies that should've enjoyed huge box-office success)
by LoveUniHateExams injust thought i'd start a thread about this topic.. john carpenter's the thing (1982) was a great film, one of his best imo.
for me, it's right up there with alien (1979) as one of the greatest sci-fi horror films ever made.
and yet one film made anything between $100 - 200 million at the box office whereas the other made only $19 million.

Td beat me to one i had in mind, “fight club”. Fatastic movie, even after the big reveal you can rewatch and enjoy more and more, with great performances by norton and pitt.

Somehow everyone else managed to grasp the premise and to discuss it rather than picking at words used like we did as JWs.
😂😂😂 Oh my... unable to discuss a concept without an attempt at a petty insult... dub, if you cant examine a question and try to see the underlying concept then your conversations are likely superficial. Thats fine, if your happy im happy for you.
Its worth, however, taking a min to look deeper at a question sometimes. Or not. I dont actually care what you do... Of course your even mistaken on the very premise: many who leave dont fair badly. A few nowhwat knows did. A few we all know did. I addressed that too, but perhaps your too interested in sparing with me to have gotten that far... its fine. I enjoy a little verbal sparing, but honestly we fight in two different weight classes.
As always dub.... hope you have a good one ;)

Actually dub the wording is very relevant, as is the premise. If indeed “so many” have their lives end up as dumpster fires the the org is right. Leaving is to invite disaster. I would think you and many others on this board would object to that premise on its surface alone.... or maybe not. Perhaps your life has been a dumpster fire since you left and you wish to warn people not to leave. I feel differently ;)

Your premise is flawed. By what measure do you say “so many go back”? Meaning, how many exactly do you know who have left and then had disasters and then went back?
Its a perception thing. You see one or two and assume its “a lot” or feel, because its the total of you observation, that it must apply across the board.
its easy to understand that some who leave were df’d and they may have emotional problems to start with, hell id be willing to say a lot of those problems were brought on by life in the cult anyway.
That portion of “those who leave” may well have their lives fall apart, the cult was their support system in an already troubled life.
How many leave due to principled stand and do great? I know more than a few, myself included. Ive made new friends apart from the cult and expanded my life immensely.
I think your looking a specific subset, those who are forced out and may have emotional problems anyway, and applying that result to all. Your data is incomplete.

You MUST Sign the Data Collection Form "...obey...whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not.¨"
by gone for good inthe many and complex issues surrounding the collection of person data and new laws aiming to protect individuals control of their own privacy, seem to have hatched about the same time as the governing body expressed their hope that it´s own 8 million would obey their order to "sign this form" effectively transfering total authority over privacy and data issues over to the borg.. what are your thoughts on this coincidence?.
zuckerberg lost billion$$ when people realized that he had prostituted their personal data and now wt wants the same signed access that he had to info that is $$$.... wt already owns all the real estate and now wants to own all the data.... it´s a current and global issue - please share your thought with the rest of us here.. .

But there is a lot of info required if you ever want to sign up for Bethel (full time or part time) or work on the LDC.
The Bethel questionnaire drills as far down as what health issues you have, whether you are on medication, etc.Very true. Any of their so called special privileges get a bit more detailed than the pub record card, although pioneer and elder are just the two simple questions about ever being involved in child abuse. For the most part however the local congregation dosent keep any info beyond name, dob and address.
If I answer a speculative question in the future about something that the watchtower may do, and it sounds ominous and 1984ish I'll be sure to give a Tin Foil Hat Warning.
No need. I see them coming a mile away (tin foil is very reflective).

Nor would i. I just hate the tinfoil hat crowd propagating the idea that the borg is keeping detailed filed on everyone including bowl movments and making a fortune off selling it. They arnt keeping anything more than the standard pub record card crap we all know about and they now legally obligated to get peoples consent.
