The jews were commanded by their desert god have beards. There was however a group of biblical people known to be clean shaven.... the evil Persians. Let the reader use discernment.

Beard update
by Coded Logic inso it's been over a month since i decided to grow a beard.
the mustache and chin have come in fuller than i ever imagined - while the cheeks leave me wondering if i'll ever grow enough hair to make it not look so wildly unkept and patchy (if anyone has any advice here it'd be much appreciated).
but in the mean time i'll give it another month and see how it goes.. .

You Know You're Starting To Wake Up When...
by pale.emperor inyou start listening to music deemed "unsuitable for christians".
you pretend to knock on the doors.
you explain a jw teaching to someone and realize how ridiculous it sounds.

Nephew’s JW Fiancée Begins Conversion to Judaism Due to Passover Date
by Rabbi Midge init’s been a while since i posted, but for those who remember, i came on here to get some information about jehovah’s witnesses because i have a nephew who was getting engaged to a girl who was a jehovah’s witness and, along with some other sites, i was recommended this one.. since then we’ve been busy with passover and jehovah’s witnesses have had something they call the memorial of christ’s death (i believe i have that right).
this clashing of the two observances apparently did more for this girl than anything else i ever saw in our months of conversations with her.. respectfully, jews do not proselytize.
these are people who, of their own desire, “join the tribe” after some years of study and practice--something this girl has just begun to do.

By the way, for the comments as to how long it takes to become a JW, it can be done with fresh meat in as little as 6 months, just have to time the study start and the baptisms correctly... I think we should strive for as few baptisms as possible however.
6 months is very unusual in my neck of the woods. From first contact to bible study then to be qualified to go in service then to have been going in service long enough to establish some consistency them for a ca or da to roll around and go over questions and then be dunked.... 6 months is a hell a sprint for all that. Im not calling you a liar.... but thats not normal. For people to be indocrinated, prove their commitment to the cult and be dunked is minimim a year around here and usually two... but in the end the exact time wasnt my point. Ole midge was saying it took a couple of years to convert as if that was relevant to her sales pitch. I was pointing out jw conversions also take time. So what?
As for striving for as few baptismsas possible... isnt the goal zero?
And midge.... you did leave in a huff dear. Nobody was mean to you. If your goal was just to talk about this girl there was no need for the sales pitch. You got mad when you were called out on it. Nobody demanded you stop. Plenty of people were happy to talk about your non religion culture that is alao a religion that you have to be born into unless your converted and accepted after being born into it.. or whatever you said last. also making repeated posts attempting to insult people who disagree by refering to their cult past is laughable. We do that to each other all the time. Your attempt at it wasnt even a good one. Also also making repeated good bye posts sort of negates them all. If you wanted to leave you could just stop posting.

It's not religion like Christianity, and Jehovah's Witnesses, and Mormonism. It's something we are born into.
Annnnd your telling us how people can join.... but you have to be born into it..... but your nephews gf or whatever she is maybe one day might be invited to join... but you have to be born into it.... seeing the contradiction yet? Ive pointed it out now three times.
You can leave in a huff if you want, of course, thats your choice, but im sure some will want to continue to engage with you.

If you don't mind me asking, what is this "logical choice" you are referring to? Surely you are aware that it takes up to three or more years for someone to convert to Judaism
You realize it takes at least two years to become a jw, right? Or do you not care anymore than i do as to how long it takes to convert to judaism..? And dont call me surely.
All I said is she has merely started the process, meaning she has just begun to inquire. She is doing this because she wants to get married and wants to have children and raise them in a society...
Yep. Thats why people become jw’s too.
Also also, for someone who makes a huge deal out of jews not seek converts you seem to be advertising pretty heavily.
The only choice, again, she has made is to investigate what Judaism is about.
yep. Thats how being a jw starts as well.
Whether she formally is accepted as a convert and becomes a Jew won't be decided for a very, very long time from now. It is up to her if she wants to be part of our culture.
Sigh... again, do you not see the contradiction..? Or are you to busy advertising to think about what your saying?
In the end, slow clap for the little girl leaving one cult and trying to belong another. Its all well and good and the jewish cult isnt quiet as evil, at least not in its moderate practice.
i also agree with the nominal topic, that jws get the date of the memorial wrong. Im not sure what your recruiting pitch has to do with that but perhaps you figure one jw girl bought it with an explanation of the flawed date of the memorial perhaps others will too.... i dont look down on your efforts, rabbi. Some people may well benefit from the community and structure that your sect of the jewish cult provides.

You said:
Respectfully, Jews do not proselytize. Yes, there are Jews-by-choice. These are people who, of their own desire, “join the Tribe” after some years of study and practice
You also said:
Reconstructionism views Judaism not as a religion but a community, a culture made up of art, food, music, philosophy, archaeology, history, science, mathematics, and a religion too
Perhaps you dont see the contradiction, but i think im seeing it as listener did. Shes a young girl searching for something, be it jwism or Judaism. I hope shes happy, but dont be fooled into thinking this some deeply thought out logical choice. -

Well your girlfriend who is the head elder of finance should definitely be the final word 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
but wait you have 100 years of experiance with 501c3 that qualifies you.... apparently not as well as your elder girlfiend though.
You have zero credibility by your own admission.
James jack was dead on. There is no danger for the org in this.

Never a JW, I have no clue what type of docs you guys have besides you would never allow a woman to look at your books no matter how many degrees she has!!!
Theres a lot of problems with that reply. First, in admitting that you “have no clue what type of docs” the org has you invalidate your previous two cock sure posts. As i suspected, you know nothing for sure, you just wanted to sound smart and suggest a course of action that made you sound educated and ready to battle, but in reality was toothless and, at best, a hunch on your part that you have no real confidence in.
Second you used phrasing that is wrong and personally objectionable (flatly insulting) to me three times in one sentence. You said “no idea what type of docs YOU GUYS have” “besides YOU would never allow” “to look at YOUR books”. To be clear, i am not a represenative of the wtb&s or the desert witnesses in any respect. I am former member. Referring to me as some sort of a personal representative with any decision making authority is false and slanderous.

When the donations were made the checks clearly stated for XYZ project, then it must be used for XYZ project or returned. This will jeopardize their 501C3 tax exempt status.
Thats why they tell the dubs to not put a specific purpose on their checks. Also the majority of donations are not check but cash. This will not jeopardize their tax status, no matter how dishonest and dirty it was. Also also when they “donated” the money it was no doubt done by resolution and vote of all elder bodies involved. Even if checks were made to that specific fund for that specific reason the resolution by the represenatives of the congregations who donated is legal.
