They cheer and rave just like the blind followers do at the Circuit Assemblies
Yep
the woman has been deflecting the orange one's lies for quite sometime now as we all know, but after hearing her doing the same about the staff member who dissed mccain, i say she's an excellent candidate for the governing body, "nothing ever happened, we didn't say that, yes the number of 144,000 is growing every year and we accept that".
i mean, why look elsewhere, she would fit in perfectly.. btw, that's also what i say with all the drumpf supporters that show up at his rallies he holds whenever his sensitive, deflated ego needs a boost.
they cheer and rave just like the blind followers do at the circuit assemblies, they would make excellent jws, they have no problem buying into bullshit without putting any thought into anything that's being said..

i remember when that came out, my mother didn't catch it in the original article in the wt.
it was in one of the review "do you remember" thingies that she caught it.
she asked me if it means what she thought it meant.
It caused me to leave. Perhaps ernest can chime in and explain, with knowledge of ancient greek, where jesus ever used the world “overlapping”. Im not counting on it, though
a few years ago i attended the kingdom hall during "easter" as my mother in law asked me to come to a service.
i was hesitant at first, being a christian and a believer in jesus, she told me that jw believe in jesus and to come see for myself.
i finally agreed to go.
Unless your willing to share where you got your degree in ancient greek, your talking out of your ass about something you know nothing about. This internet trollerly at its trolliest.

Dont let ernests diatribes on dead langues distract from the obvious: the jw belief that only 144,000 go to heaven is ludicrous. They teach all first centery christains were annointed and that the earthly hope didnt open until around 1935... but there wernt 144,000 followers between the year 29 and 1935? Please. It stupid beyond words.
in this midweek meeting the local needs was a booooring speech about the new brochure on donations.
the wt must think the jws are dying to know how to give their money.. well, it's not new this is disgusting but this time, after i ve been slightly hinting people here and there for a year about the 'abnormal request of money' and remind them that 'the faithful slave wasn't like that until some time ago', this time i saw their faces.
they did get bothered with that talk.
Well they have had a brochure for sometime, something about “charatable giving” in the tittle. Have they perhaps revised it? I think there was a wt study article written once a year that mentioned it

@stillin- you are indeed correct, and i mentioned them in the second half of the opening remark. The number simply makes no sense.

There are about 8 million jw’s worldwide and they believe the 144,000 began to be selected way back in the early 1900’s. The math most certainly does not add up, especially since they believe all christains in the first century were of that number as well.
They believe that gods spirit bears witness with theirs and they simply KNOW they are anointed and desire to go to heaven. They are fond of saying “if you have to ask that if you are of the number you are not”

First let me say welcome!
Your understanding is a bit flawed, that is certainly understandable as jw’s have some unusual beliefs to say the least.
jw’s elders dont Partake of the bread or wine either, per say. The jw’s believe only a small number, 144,000 partake. That small number are the only ones who actively share in the communion and share in going to heaven.
The majority of witnesses believe they will live forever on earth. They attend the memorial (a once a year communion held around the time of the jewish passover) as observers but do not actively partake in the communion. They believe they befit from christ sacrfice but do not eat the communion as they not a part of the covenant christ made for hevenly life.
its all a bit convoluted and you have to really really read between the lines in a lot of scruptures and have a whole lot of speculation throw in to get their conclusions but that basics.
i hope that helps, id be happy to answer more if needed
stuff you never expected you would do or enjoy doing as a non-witness.... researching - always thought i hated study and reading turns out it was just wt literature i hated studying and reading.
having political opinions and just having opinons and beliefs that are not set in stone and that i am free to assess, review and adjust as i become more aware of imformation .
droping the f-bomb every now and again to make a point feels surprisingly good but that may just be post-religious rebellion that wears off... eventually.
How could you think you wouldnt like metallica????
tell us a little about yourself and your family.. i was born in the mid-1970s in the midwest part of the u.s. my parents were about to enter gilead when i arrived.
my father converted to jw in his late 20s/early 30s.
he was raised a catholic, but became an atheist/agnostic.
. I worked for two and a half years to catch that guy. I finally caught him. Oh, and he is one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. In fact, the congregation in Mexico assisted in hindering his apprehension as did his Witness parents here in the U.S. He just pleaded guilty an in now on his way to prison.
hell yea!
No. I do dabble in some Odinism I prefer the outlook on life presented by the Norse gods. The whole concept of sin and imperfection is nothing less than self-loathing. Odinism teaches that men are created perfect and capable of bring praise to the gods through deeds of nobel bravery. I truly despise Christianity as a whole.
A man after my own heart.
Glad you took the time to share :)
