Full context shown above. The "elders do not provide confidential information" is in the context of "the husband DID confess, he just didn't give all the details."
Lots of complaints on this board about how elders stick their noses into private family matters. And when there is written direction to NOT stick their noses into private family issues (well, relatively, anyway) there are still complaints.
There's plenty of stuff to criticize them over. When they (more or less) get in the neighborhood of being right, we should look for legitimate gripes insteadJW's hold the ridiculous notion that infidelity is the only legitimate cause for divorce and therefore fail to understand that fidelity is a coin with two sides: If, as a precondition of marriage, your spouse had to agree to only eat food that you provided, then you would have ethical obligation to feed them.
Allowing them to starve would be an extraordinary display of bad faith and every bit as wrong as infidelity itself. -

Paranoia at Britain Branch?
by The Fall Guy ini just 'phoned britain branch and asked to speak to someone in the public information department.
it looks like the days of questioning the branch over the 'phone are a thing of the past.. here is the substance of my conversation with the sister who answered the telephone:.
operator: "what sort of information, please - is it a legal question or an accounting or construction question?".

Uhm... so your surprised that a switchboard operator didnt answer a rather random question ? Why not ask him or her their view on soy vs almond milk... or Pluto: planet or large astroid?
What did you expect from some whos job it is to direct incoming phone calls? They are literally once removed from “press 1 to reach the legal department” but since you wanted to engage in ambush style antics and they didnt dance to your tune you come here to cry foul?
Go find something real to be outraged about.

The clown factory at Warwick
by Sour Grapes init just amazes me how the clown factory at the borgs basilica in warwick could produce 8 clown popes that act like self-licking ice cream cones and the jdubs take them so seriously.
if the popes said that they were going to have a bible signing session at a king dumb hall 8 hours away that so many jdubs would make the trip the town would be swamped with traffic.. you know what is truly sad is when during jdub public prayers, the governing body gets more praise than the head of the congregation.
all jesus gets is the final "in jesus name.".

Let me add another twist to this... its not uncommon in jw marriages where infidelity has occurred for the “innocent” partner to withhold sex for a prolonged period of time as punishment, keeping the mate who cheated a hostage. Its all so twisted and legalized. The church has no business deciding these matters even you accept their right to judge an adulterer. The continuation or desolution of the marriage isnt their concern, but here they are with a list of overly rules and scenarios governing it.

My reading of the comments is that elders should tell the wife about the fact of adultery but not about the details
Oh now you can read things clearly 😂😂😂😂

Can Someone tell me where in the bible it says if a husband or wife have sexual relations after one has committed adultery that you then can't get scripturally divorced?
Of course it doesnt. Its all pharisaical extrapolation. If the only grounds for divorce is adultry then it must follow that if you decide to have sex with your cheating mate one time then you have restablished the marriage and therefore cannot divorce unless there is another instance of infidelity.
They can stretch a word into a paragraph and simple sentence into a far reaching law. Like the Pharisees.

What exactly are they implying here? That someone with mental health problems might make up claims of rape?
That is exactly what they are implying. And it happens. However, td’s point is the relevant concept, as far as im concerned.
