Congregation Reassignments in Ohio?
by My Name is of No Consequence infrom what i understand, a letter was read this past week in regards to congregation reassignments and that the elders want to meet with people at their homes to tell them where they have been reassigned.
obviously, this would be due to the merging and dissolution of congregations.
can anyone confirm this?.

Morph are you serious?
I think we both know i am.
You ask for evidence that hundreds of KHs have been sold. Let me see.
Yes lets see indeed what EVIDENCE you have...
1. We have this thread about lots of halls in different parts of Ohio
Really.... how many, specifically? I dont see a number. Maybe you can help me. Lets say 5, just for argument sake.
2. You yourself said a lot have sold in Washington
I dont recall saying “a lot”, but maybe you can show me where i did. I do recall saying several. I can name 3. In more real terms that represents 8 congregations. Thats a lot of people, yes, but not a lot properties. We are now up to 8.
3. At least 3 (out of about 80) have closed/sold in Scotland in the last year
*snicker*. We are now up to 11.
4. I know cities in Germany in Austria have sold sold and combined many congregations.
Number? Specifics? We are at, what, 13?
5. We have reports from many parts of England where KHs are being sold: Isle of Wight, Birmingham, London to name a few.
At least you named them this time. We are up to about 16.
6. More reports from Australia on this forum of KHs closing.
Nothing specific so i have no idea what to count... lets say 5. We are now at 21.
7. Even the KH that was used in the film “Apostasy” was a KH in Oldham which was sold!
No!!!! Not the kh from the hit motion picture summer blockbuster “apostasy”!!!! /endsarcasium. We are at 22.
And to be honest my contacts are very limited and I haven’t even been paying to all the threads about closures on this forum. These scattered reports a very small sample of what is going on.
Ahhhhhhh now we have the admission i was waiting for, buried deeeep in bowls of the load of crap you dropped. You actually “know” nothing specific and admit to a “very small sample”. Need i elaborate on how that paragraph, tucked so deeply away, negates everything you said before it?
8. And to top it all off, we have a leaked video where Watchtower themselves stated their own intention of selling 3000 properties in an attempt to get themselves on a stable financial footing.
Really? I missed the part where they said “to get themselves on a stable financial footing”. Could you please let me know where in the video that statement was made? I will rewatch and retract this if you can.
So are you joking? What more evidence do you need?
I just need actual evidence. You ran around for at least a year proclaiming one major line of evidance that they were broke was no new bibles being printed... and what just happened? A new bible release. How many times will be wrong before you admit you have oversold the collapse?

Lol and isnt that really the irony of life as a dubbie... things that are truly noteworthy are swept under the rug and “big announcements” are almost always mundane.

I challenge you to cite any evidence of “hundreds of kingdom halls in lots of different countries”.
Also i have no particular faith in their strategic ablities and i suspect they bumble along. Im simply being realistic about the facts and not superimposing a desire the org fall apart.

They are in serious trouble. I told you so. (Where’s Morph?)
Ahh another day, another collapse thread.
You take anecdotal evidance regarding some local halls being sold and take that as a broad spectrum referendum on all things jw while at the same time ignoring facts that contradict your preordained conclusion .
A lot of halls have been sold. That is a fact. Its certainly happened in the washington dc area... but it hasnt hurt moral on bit. They plod on. They sustain the small growth. They realease the revised nwt in new languages.
I applaude your efforts to see gloom and doom and ignore the reality but it is reality: they arnt dying, they are changing.

What is the current pulse in the organization with the reductions?
by SouthCentral ini have not seen jehovah’s witnesses in my neighborhood for several years now.
it appears that the cart witnessing has taken over.
congregations are being consolidated and witnesses are being forced to travel a greater distance than before.the burdens/privileges of elders seem to be ever increasing!.

_Morpheus
Everyone I know is oblivious as ever and convinced the end imminent. Business as usual
X2
also the whole ‘cart witnessing taking over’ thing is overblown. Few are involved. Its not a big thing to most of them since they are not involved, and thats coming from the perspective of a metropolitan area with a ton of cart witnessing. Its probably even less important in outlying areas.
The earth spins on and so does the org. We here on the board make much more of it from an outside perspective.

The JC won't tell the wife about her husband's adultery
by purrpurr instill reading the shepard the flock book and came across this gem (!)....

Full context shown above. The "elders do not provide confidential information" is in the context of "the husband DID confess, he just didn't give all the details."
Lots of complaints on this board about how elders stick their noses into private family matters. And when there is written direction to NOT stick their noses into private family issues (well, relatively, anyway) there are still complaints.
There's plenty of stuff to criticize them over. When they (more or less) get in the neighborhood of being right, we should look for legitimate gripes insteadJW's hold the ridiculous notion that infidelity is the only legitimate cause for divorce and therefore fail to understand that fidelity is a coin with two sides: If, as a precondition of marriage, your spouse had to agree to only eat food that you provided, then you would have ethical obligation to feed them.
Allowing them to starve would be an extraordinary display of bad faith and every bit as wrong as infidelity itself. -

Paranoia at Britain Branch?
by The Fall Guy ini just 'phoned britain branch and asked to speak to someone in the public information department.
it looks like the days of questioning the branch over the 'phone are a thing of the past.. here is the substance of my conversation with the sister who answered the telephone:.
operator: "what sort of information, please - is it a legal question or an accounting or construction question?".
-
_Morpheus
Uhm... so your surprised that a switchboard operator didnt answer a rather random question ? Why not ask him or her their view on soy vs almond milk... or Pluto: planet or large astroid?
What did you expect from some whos job it is to direct incoming phone calls? They are literally once removed from “press 1 to reach the legal department” but since you wanted to engage in ambush style antics and they didnt dance to your tune you come here to cry foul?
Go find something real to be outraged about.

The clown factory at Warwick
by Sour Grapes init just amazes me how the clown factory at the borgs basilica in warwick could produce 8 clown popes that act like self-licking ice cream cones and the jdubs take them so seriously.
if the popes said that they were going to have a bible signing session at a king dumb hall 8 hours away that so many jdubs would make the trip the town would be swamped with traffic.. you know what is truly sad is when during jdub public prayers, the governing body gets more praise than the head of the congregation.
all jesus gets is the final "in jesus name.".
