I do appreciate your rebuttal.
But newspapers also talk to everyone. The sports section talks to people who know sports. The business sections talks to people who are into business, and each section uses language and concepts familiar to that target audience.
Why can’t WT do the same thing?Exactly my point. Newspapers, by your own admission, talk to everyone. I challenge you to find any section of any newspaper that writes using the same dumbed down language as those two excerpts you cited.
The wt used to do exactly as newpapers do: write articles that were willing to challange the readers intellect. If that means using a dictionary, so be it. If it means rereading a passage to make sure you understand the point, mores the better.
The references you shared were startlingly poor in their composition. Ive only been gone 3 years and its jarring to read that and know where it comes from.

As i said originally, “citation needed”. You have provided such and so i recant my preivious remark related to jonah and his survival. It dosent make it less stupid, but you were correct in your statment as to the wt explanation.
As an aside, my god how dumbed down is that writing???? For thor sake i remember a time when the writing was well constructed and at a highschool senior level. That crap is 6th grade at best. Its insulting. Its the written equivalent of stephen lett talking.

citation needed. I’ve never read that. They claim that god prompted the fish to swallow him, they never claim at all that god kept him alive. In fact they often cite some bogus not true story about a modern day fisherman who is supposed to have survived a similar experiance.
Be careful not to superimpose YOUR explanations on the organization.

in any debate on this board, if it goes on long enough, someone will accuse a poster of being in another cult or still having cult personality traits. More over whom ever resorted to this is themselves showing the cult like traits and has lost the argument based on their inability to reason and resorting to the ‘still in a cult’ or ‘still thinking like your in the cult’ accusation.
