Do the Rank & File JW's REALLY read and understand the bible to be able to REALLY start a study with someone???
by ADJUSTMENTS ini believe the average rank & file are illiterate when it come to the bible because they are so used to using the wbats cliff notes... even though i believe the bible is a fiction novel, at least be able to explain a novel you hold is such high regard: i mean jesus!!!

) and bethel as a destination vacation.. after the initial bewilderment and laughing about his diatribe, it is more clear to me that this was not about modest clothing choices, or spiritual priorities.. it was designed and succeeded as a slap in the face of all who listened.. the things he talked about are just not on the normal radar of anyone who listened.. i can recall nowhere in writing that ever encouraged families to go to bethel before disneyworld, mgm, etc; nowhere that talks about leggings or modern cut men's suits (it is just fashion, after all), or women wearing exercise clothing in public.
(on a side note, i have been to assemblies, there are just not many of us who could wear tight clothing and not look like stuffed sausage, so how many people was he aiming at here?).

Everything you wrote is 100% spot on....and yet the average dub dosent seem to take this as seriously as they did 20 or 30 years ago. Its not just my imagination. Average dubs comment on it. The whole spanks talks had sisters avoiding excersie cloths for 2 seconds. In less than a week i heard two different women comment that it was just too practicle to wear spandex and it wasnt that big a deal. They just arnt lapping it up as they used too in my area and my area was very very hard core for a long time. -

by cofty inone time, i heard a father in a meeting with married couples say `i sometimes have to smack my children a bit, but never in the face so as to not humiliate them.how beautiful!
he knows the sense of dignity!

the old kingdumb halls where a tough resale to the general public because of the custom designing aspects of the old kingdumb halls.
they have completely done away with that issue with these new versatile properties which can be converted to an office/restaurant/repair garage/clinic.

If this man is indeed a paranoid schizophrenic (im not a doctor and im in no way qualified to know if he is or isnt) then i feel pitty for his victiums and pitty for him. That he wishes to believe in paradise is, i would suspect , a coping mechanism.
That he was ultimatly drawn into the cult is irrelevant to his murders prior to his being medicated and ultimatly indoctrinated in the cult.

by lurkernomore injust checked the faq on jw.org as i wanted to show a df'd friend of ours how dishonest they were being about thier shunning policy.. well don't you know they've only gone and got honest about shunning df'd ones:.
'we do not automatically disfellowship someone who commits a serious sin.
if, however, a baptized witness makes a practice of breaking the bibles moral code and does not repent, he or she will be shunned or disfellowshipped.
