a situation I know of and the mind set of the elders.
by joe134cd inok here's the situation i know of.. a women was in a situation where she was forced to reveal a hidden sin and was given a private reproof for it.
before this she had an other wise clean slate.
btw the reproof was for an unrelated matter and had nothing to do with apostasy.

Injected Buddhist teachings into Watchtower Study today
by cappytan inon the paragraph about meditation in today's study, i gave a comment about "meditating with a view towards mindfulness and awareness of the positive things in our lives.".
afterwards, about 8 people that i rarely talk to in the congregation came up and expressed how much they appreciated that point.. wanted to say, "thank the buddha.
" but didn't have the guts.

A "body of elders" or really one main guy?
by Simon inthe wts promotes the idea of congregations being managed by a body or elders who all follow their rules and so are in full agreement with how things should be done.. was your hall like this?.
out hall was a constant battlefield for power between a couple of elders and their families - relatives that had been promoted to various positions.
it wasn't some hidden secret, it was blatant and obvious.

are these df'd children (actually, some of these df'd children are in their 60's) meant to ignore being ignored and then care physically for their non speaking parents?

Cases of fornication when only one of the involved individuals will confess
by Judge Rochefort inwhat happens in cases of fornication between two jehovah's wintesses if one of them confesses but the other denies the facts?would there be a judicial committee to the one who confesses while the other individual would be left as if nothing had happened?i would love to know specially the opinions of elders or ex-elders.thank you!

Yep, i will simply echo what others have already said: the confessor gets a JC, the lier gets off. Had it happen our hall. We firmly believed the confessor, didnt douch the lier, trusted the desert god to deal with the person. -

How very interesting thats its almost dead even! Gender dosent seem to play role, at least with the informal statistics gathered so far :) thats why this is interesting to me. We may have a suspicion or a gut feeling but looking at the hard data can really shake those and give valuable insight amd i absolutly LOVE this kind of data!
as an aside on the 'women are more emotional' debate.... I have seen anecdotal evidance both for and against that.... My own dear mother can be the most logical rational ruthless person i know (i dont mean that derogatoraly at all nor do i mean to suggest she dosent express love) wheras my father can be rather impulsive and emotional at times. Conversly i know my share of women who fit the protypical emotional woman stereotype. Confirmation bias can really skew our views on these things and i realized long ago that trying to put someone in a catagory for any reason, be it gender race ethnicity etc etc is to sell them and me short. I let people show who they are via word and deed. Its all i ask for myself, its only fair to give them the same chance.
