I agree with and appreciate your anger. I also hate it when they preach to people at cemeterys and the like. When my grandfather died (who was a witness) i received a letter in the mail. It was from a random witness who saw the obit and wrote me. I was a believer at the time and still found it tacky. What makes it even more crappy on their part is there no human feeling to it. They are seeking out people who emotionally distraught and directing them to the cult simply to count service time. They wouldnt spend two minutes talking to you personally. Just drive by and throw a tract or a web site referance at you... So pointless and rude.

Deplorable Website Promotion
by HBH inmy siblings mother in law died recently, and there was a condolence posted with the borg website.
i googled the name of the poster, and found the same condolence on 100s of funeral home websites!!!
many of these sites dont have mods or a way to report a website promotion.

but it seems that some of the "new" new songs have been leaked by somebody at bethel.. just a bit of a warning, do not click on that vocal rendition of song 142... it is awful.

15 Years of Jehovahs-Witness.com

i never thought for one moment that it would survive this long or have so many people post so many great subjects over the years.. it is still humbling when i get pm's or emails from people expressing how the site has helped them and of course thanks goes to all the posters who have shared their experiences and make helpful and supportive comments to others who are in the sometimes difficult process of learning the real truth about 'the truth'.. the site has gone through several different incarnations over the last 15 years running on different platforms, different databases and different hosts but we've been able to keep all the old topics.
the current site is still being developed and i'm hoping to push another major upgrade soon.. i also may have some other news to share soon about the future of the site so stay posted.. until then, here's the the next 15 years!

by average joe intheres was a mention about it in the september 23rd boe .
where can i find the video explaining 1914 or at least the new explanation of 1914 from the wt society and not you trying to remember bits and pieces :) ?

Red Bull punted in baptismal talk
by Vidqun inan acquaintance reported that the brother giving the baptismal talk at a regional assembly recently punted red bull a few times.
he never mentioned red bull by name, but he referred to the drink that "gives you wings" more than once.
this sounds like subliminal advertising.

Lol i appreciate the tendancy to see it as all about money but im 100% sure it was not advertising for red bull. If nothing else red bull wouldnt be interested in paying to market its energy drink to such a small audience and do so subliminally at that. They sponsor huge events, race cars and traditional 30 second television comercials, among other forms of advertising . The about to be baptised cult crowd isnt their demographic.

by cofty init is often said that our retinas are are an example of sub-optimal design.. a few years ago i was intrigued by a passing comment in one of nick lane's to the effect that this is not a good argument but he didn't go into much detail.. researchers at leipzig have revealed the role of glial cells in transmitting light from the surface of the retina to the cones, acting like fiber-optic cables.. erex ribak has built a model of the eye and demonstrated some fascinating details.... so, the question is - does this reflect good "design" or a retro-fitted repair like the hubble telescope's glasses?.

Here is the differance: my car radiator wasnt supposed to be designed by an all knowing creator who should have been able to do better.
Furthur it isnt a design flaw that causes radiator leaks but normal wear and tear since rubber hoses dont self repair like our bodies.

i was also pretty stinkin poor for most of my life and didn't really have the money to give.. anyone else like me?.

I totally agree with the op. Never gave much if anything before bethel and when there i really learned how cheap those SoB are... I was there giving free labor 9+ hours a day and they STILL wanted me to donate..? No way. Greedy clowns really embittered me with their cheap mindset and when i came home i never again donated anything, even as an elder. All the time and effort i gave was more than sufficient, in my view -
