Do not misinderstand the new arrangment. CO's are NOT calling the shots on appointments now anymore than they were before. They are still just a link in the chain to bethel. The only differance is now sugguested appointments are sent to the Flying monkey ahead of his visit along with pertinent information on the slug being recomended. He discusses with the branch in advance of his visit and by the time he gets there the branch has already given the yea/nae on him. The CO can still change his mind during the week if something dosent sit well with him but dont think for a moment that bethel has removed themselves from the appointment loop. Not at all. It still goes through them before anything is done.

only one remains as elder, three were re-appointed as ms, and one, the cobe was deleted entirely.. two new elders were brought in as new secretary and cobe / watchtower conductor, respectively, and introduced to the congregation from the platform on sunday immediately following his second talk.
he reminded everybody of the authority he has and then named the new appointees.

Actually, on one level i agree with fisherperson on this.... Some people wernt laid off, they were fired. That dosent actually make the situation or the story better. -

Just watched part 3... This is where he and i differ. I didnt have a hard time finding work but i had only been there for a year and i returned to washington Dc, lots of job oportunities here. I did however get a lot of attitude from local cult members, " oh how could you leave the spiritual paradise " etc etc... Anyone whos been to bethell knows: its not spritual. its not paradise. -

Just watched part 2.... Yep 100% accurate. When i left i too got my final bill for some very petty nonsense. They used to charge us (in brooklyn anyway) for using the air conditioner. They charged for phone calls. They charged for everything even as a full bore loney tunes believer i knew that was wrong, to get my hard work for free and then charge me for ac???? Or a phone call home????
I never paid mine. They sent two "reminders" (i prob still have them somewhere) and the let it go. On to part 3...

Negative on advanced age. An elder of advanced age is allowed to retain his tittle but have no real resoonsiblities. Thats all print. Demotion is not in print and would not fly in the USA branch. I have been involved with that discussion with the branch. "No provision" for it is the phrase -

Never heard of that and it would not stand in the USA. The basic qualifications for MS are the same as an elder. Never heard of anyone being demoted. If you dont qualify as an elder you dont qualify as a servant. -

Fisherperson, as usual you sound rediculious. Added to the list of not taking legal advice from you is not to take insight on how bethel works.
as a former bethelite i can attest that cappy is 100% correct. If they dismiss you for cause you are escorted to your room to collect some clothing and carry-on items. Your handed a plane/bus ticket and escorted to a waiting taxi outside the bethel facilities. Have a nice life and oh by the way a scathing letter is sent to your home congregation. Saw it happen four times exactly as I described.
"layoffs" happen much as the young man described in part one. They call you (and others) in one at a time. Give you the okie doke speech and a week to get out. The young man would have been told on that initial meeting that he had a week to make arrangments but i can understand how he could have missed that in his emotional state.
