I went down in the first Round!

there is a visitor brother in town and from what ive been told, he has been a missionary for many years and they were having a get together for him.

i took my mom to that get-together yesterday and stayed for a few minutes.

i heard a group around a table with the visitor brother talking about how hard it was getting in the world with so many distractions and that many of the brothers were falling into the trap and leaving jehovahs organization.

You misread that situation totally john. He was already throwing jabs and setting up his strong right cross. Talking abojt how so many are leaving... Leading someone into his trap... When you spoke up he was drooling, waiting, for you (or someone) to step into that so he could slip that punch and throw his right cross. Rookie mistake. When you want to make them think you dont do it on their terms. That never works. You could have said:

yes many are leaving! Maybe they heard bro whatshiaface testimony before the RAC when he said that the gb dont speak for god!"

thats taking it to them in a way they don't expect. You will do better next time ;)

the chelmsford project in the uk has already come to a halt and every one has been sent home.

the bethel family in london is to be cut by several hundred.

my impression is that most ambitious youngster in the org dream of being involved with the building program.

Fair enough simon, as headquarters goes so does the rest of the org.... But for something that significant to go down with not a wiff or slightest hint picked up...? No way. That would have made major news

Sorry i cant support that statment. Hes the head of the original child molestation protection organization. I dont hate the catholic faith anymore than other faiths but that just means i dont hold any of them in particularly high regard

seriously, they will change the midweek meeting ever so slightly.

it is just repackaging of the same old stuff.seriously, we don't know if construction is halted for days, weeks, months, forever, or what.. we don't know if new kingdom halls will still go up, old kingdom halls will be closed and sold.

they have laid off bethelites before and they will lay them off some more.

Totally agree with the original premise here. There will be no mass exodus. The cult will continue as normally scheduled.... But damn its facinating to see how fast they are sliding!

What makes WT think they can reassign Bethel volunteers to be Regular Pioneers.

when the gb cuts loose 1600 volunteers, what makes them think they can continue telling them how they will spend their time?

i've read on many of these threads that the 1600 will be reassigned.

what, are they still under some sort of contract?.

Indeed it is. One of the many reasons i left. I saw how disloyal and pointless it was even back then. Going to bethel has laid the foundation of many an apostate

Standard cult protocol. Even when i left bethel 25 years ago it was 'assumed' for you that you would piosneer. They are kicking them out by "reassigning" them to full time field service but of course its optional. The real message is "you dont have to pioneer but you have to get the hell outta here"
