Had you thought of feeling sorry for the G.B?

i only bring this to the board, because a friend of mine once said he felt sorry for the footballers who made so much money.

that comment stayed with me, and over the years,the more i thought about that comment the more i agreed with him.. i admit the g.b destroy people's life's and are the sublimation of all that's good in people's life.

there only excuse is a fantazy asylum they claim to believe in.

THEY control the org and everything jw's world wide believe. They are ultimately responsible. By their own standard, "those to whom much is given, much is demanded".

I didnt take you letter as offensive or heavy handed, you did a nice job trying to summarize the myarid flaws in the myth in a reasonably lengthed letter.... I also second and third the other responses indicating that you wont get much of an answer. Do it for dad and let it be what it will....

me: i've been told that construction of the new branch has been stopped - is this true?.

Lightbulb Moment ------> Two Witness Rule

the jw's always say that there must be "two witnesses before a matter is firmly established".

if that is the case, then why is the account of moses and the 10 commandments or jesus in the wilderness talking to satan taken as fact?

moses and jesus were both by themselves in the wilderness.

I have certainly considered the same. Add to it the fact that the bible dosent evem claim jesus wrote any accounts about himself so in his case we have him talking to the devil related THIRD HAND, not even he himself relating it. Sketchy dosent even begin to cover it

I went down in the first Round!

there is a visitor brother in town and from what ive been told, he has been a missionary for many years and they were having a get together for him.

i took my mom to that get-together yesterday and stayed for a few minutes.

i heard a group around a table with the visitor brother talking about how hard it was getting in the world with so many distractions and that many of the brothers were falling into the trap and leaving jehovahs organization.

You misread that situation totally john. He was already throwing jabs and setting up his strong right cross. Talking abojt how so many are leaving... Leading someone into his trap... When you spoke up he was drooling, waiting, for you (or someone) to step into that so he could slip that punch and throw his right cross. Rookie mistake. When you want to make them think you dont do it on their terms. That never works. You could have said:

yes many are leaving! Maybe they heard bro whatshiaface testimony before the RAC when he said that the gb dont speak for god!"

thats taking it to them in a way they don't expect. You will do better next time ;)

the chelmsford project in the uk has already come to a halt and every one has been sent home.

the bethel family in london is to be cut by several hundred.

my impression is that most ambitious youngster in the org dream of being involved with the building program.

Fair enough simon, as headquarters goes so does the rest of the org.... But for something that significant to go down with not a wiff or slightest hint picked up...? No way. That would have made major news
