after watching the clip, i honestly don't know what to believe.

We need to revist that viv. Eddie was and remained the genuis behind the band, aside from you know actually BEING the band name.
Roth was a great front man and had a great voice but their best success came after his departure. Hardly a recomendation for his value to the group

Doing the Right Thing, Making a Choice (shunning)
by Simon incontinuing a topic that is dear to my heart because of my experience as both a shunner and a shunnee .... some people seem to get very agitated when i talk about the responsibility people have to make the right choices and that despite all the wrongs within the wts, people themselves have a role to play and some personal responsibility for the experience.. notice i said "some" responsibility, not "complete" - this doesn't absolve the wts for the things they do wrong in any way shape or form.
so please don't get argumentative about possible meanings and absolutes - of course the wts has a significant role to play but we need to decide what we're trying to achieve here and why the personal choice is so important.. i'm also not talking about actual crimes that the wts should answer for.
if they cover up child abuse for instance, they absolutely should be reported immediately.

I agree whole heartedly with the premise. Even as a full on believer i just couldnt shun people, family or friends, because of an announcment. I kept it discrete but i just refused. I like the idea of framing it as a personal choice and highlighting the responsibility individuals have in the matter

My mom
by cognac ini was just talking to my mom a few weeks ago.
she said, out of all her kids, i was the only one she didn't have to worry about as far as spirituality.
i always took a stand for jehovah.. she told when all of her kids were little, she gave us the option of not eating birthday cakes in school.
