Been there done that. Had the same struggle. It just takes time. Few people can transistion from full on believer to not believing over night. I can tell you however, stopping meeting attendance was the single best thing i ever did. It made my life so much more enjoyable and full. All the best to you

Hearing voices, not always caused by demons.
by lancelink inmy wife and i for the past three months have been caring for a teenage girl who was abused by her parents.
she stole a car to get away, and living in prison was a welcome relief for her.
she was in prison for four years, and the state was going to release her, but she would not go back home.. a co-worker teacher that my wife knows told us the situation, and we agreed o help the girl get back on her feet.. well, she dealt with abuse from all aspects 😔, and is pretty messed up in the head from all of that.. but by being in our home, she was safe and was learning how to deal with her problems.

First, all the credit and praise in the world to you and the Mrs for helping this young lady.
Also x2 what simon and fink said. Its never demons. Its also never god.
As a side note auditory hallucinations are far more common than most people realize. Hearing voices is on the extreme end but a great many people hear things that are not real. Often its a framiler noise or a noise that your brain expects to hear at particular place or point in time and your brain, in expectation, fills the noise in even if it dosent actually occur.
People with cochlear implants report on the phenomenon. If they hear a song they knew before they experianced hearing loss they hear song in full detail. If its a "new" piece of music. One they wernt framiler with prior to hearing loss, then they hear it only through the limited ablity of the inplant to transmit the sound. Hearing the music in its full detail is a form of auditory hallucination, albeit a desirable one.
in any event, a long rambling post to simply say that these events are not at all rare or demon insipred. And again, well done by you and the wife for offering help!

KISS - Knights In Satan's Service
by Funchback ingrowing up as a jw, i was told that kiss stood for knights in satan's system (or service).. i just did a google search and learned it's not true.
it's actually not an acronym for anything.. to be honest, apparently it's not just the jws who believe it means something related to satan.. http://www.snopes.com/music/hidden/kiss.asp.
one day paul [stanley] and peter [criss] and i were driving around, brainstorming for new names.

Kiss was an underrated rock band. They get glossed as glam rock but they really had a good sound

Illingsworth did a tour of duty in the DC area. He was decent guy. Came across as down to earth.

Ahhh i remember the good ole days when the troglodytes were confined to their hovels in the desert, content to killing each other over goats or whatever passes for a grudge in that part of hell.
They need to be sent back and not allowed to infest decent society whilst they evolve.

Brian Thorton. Couldnt stand dealing with him. Arrogant and self righteous. I laughed when he got removed.

Sometimes I am very puzzled ...!!!
by fulltimestudent inrecently the extremely smart (so he tells us) but comparatively inexperienced person, elected by the very smart people who live in the usa, to be their president, announced that he was limiting ties with qatar (a small arab state in the middle east) on the grounds that they were supporting terrorism.. and yet, the very next day, he authorises the sale of twelve billion us dollars worth of modern american fighters (f15s) to that small state, in which is located ... .
" ... the biggest us military base in the middle east, al udeid.
ten thousand american personnel are there, many of them prosecuting the air war against isis in syria and iraq.

Different field, outlaw. They are playing the game at the mlb team park (nats stadium). The shooting was on a smaller field in nearby virginia. Local news is saying they sold 20k tickets. The nats only average 30k. Its a great night for the charity and a solidifying effect in the area

Smiddy, your simple minded absurdo ad reductio proves only how uneducated you are regarding a topic you seem to want to pontificate on.
Everyone in america does not have a right to carry a firearm nor to use it as they see fit. That part of VA does not allow open carry of firearma in public places (save law enforcemnt of course). Many states, including DC and Maryland (the neighboring states) have incredibly strict laws regarding how a firearm can even be transported to a firing range (unloaded, locked in a case and seperate from any munitions). Simple Violations of transport laws land otherwise law abiding citizens in jail for years. I know a man in just such a situation.
As a resident of the aforementioned locality i cannot shoot someone for even ATTEMPTING to break into my home. They must COMPLETE the intrusion and even then i have to claim i feared for my life. For further clarification i cannot shoot someone for breaking into a car or shed or any other unoccupied property. These laws are not universal in all 50 states but they are very much so in all large liberal crime filled cities, like balitimore and dc where handguns are banned.
Your nonsensical hyperbole falls on very deaf ears to those who actually know the law and live in the areas you obviously know nothing about. I will tell you what i tell all euros who cry tears of angst at our firearms: stay where you are. We neither need nor want your visit to our country :)
