Facial hair and Witnesses

i never understood why the society was against beards or goatees but completely okay with mustaches.

what's the difference?

facial hair is facial hair, whether it's above your lip or around your cheeks or under your chin.

As much as they tried in the past and continue to try now to pain themselves as “above common culture” dubbies have always been solidly in the middle of culture. Its far right american germanic culture but culture just the same. The old saying in america was the farther you got from brooklyn the more liberal the congregations got and it always seemed true to me. Facial hair and the view thereof came from the germanic heads if the org and those they taught to think like them. Its an old tradition hung onto because its an old tradition and anyone who thinks about it for 30 seconds sees that, but of course nobody wants the social stigma in dubbie land of bucking the system.

That is 100% correct londo. I was counciled repeated to shave mine, kindly of course and not told i HAD too but it was “encouraged”.

even as a jw i was fascinated with hypnosis and seeing people like derren brown putting people under almost instantly.

in the last 2/3 years when i was a jw but beginning to wake up from the bullshit i read up on hypnosis, watched a few youtube demos and explanations etc.

but never actually studied it seriously until about a year ago.

Unacknowledged!

so...i watched the new netflix movie, "uncknowledged" by dr steven greer today fierce hearing to dj's discussing it on the radio, minds blown.

it makes a strong case for ufo's and totally screws up jw doctrine about the earth having the only intelligent life in the universe, as it is where the issue of universal sovereignty is played out and decided....the gb will need to do some fast talking.

it will be fascinating to blow some jw minds with this.

I enjoy hearing what others thought of the movie as well, i just wanted to offer something else in light of vivalavida’s post...

on the matter of why those respectable people would make the claims they have, i do have a thought. They make those claims because they believe them. It dosent make the claim accurate but i believe they believe. Thats why i said in my original post that any first hand experiances they relate interest me as i accept that they are telling the truth from their perspective. I do not care at all what they personally believe. They may also be christains who believe in a flat earth and a global flood and i wont accept their personal belief as any sort of evidance but if they tell me they lived through a global flood personally im more interested. (Yea bad example)

as for tesla bear i mind i didnt say he wasnt a genuis inventor... but tesla had a HUGE propensity to make wild and vastly exaggerated claims about his inventions and his genius. Thus i called him a fabled genuis but also a legendary liar

a fair bit of time was spent discussing the (one) scripture in the bible that "proves" that when the bible touches on scientific subjects, it is absolutely correct.
