I agree, outta here, at least on general bolden. In the realm of revealing way to much about myself, i spoke to general bolden at length on this (we shared a common interest in motorcycles and one thing lead to another) and he was passionate about the shift to the private sector. Thats said, bush 100% started the move and ended the shuttle program (prematurely imho). I cant speak on president obamas views beyond the fact that he let general bolden push the agenda forward.

Falcon Heavy
by Coded Logic inthe falcon heavy is set to launch today.
if successful, it will become the most powerful rocket in use (twice as powerful as the delta heavy).. as it's the very first attempt, elon musk has said he thinks there's a 50/50 chance of it not blowing up.
so should be interesting.

Fair enough, logic, but that seemed more like a response to you calling him an idiot not simon viewing the space program through a political lense. In either case you and i agree the falcon and related tech is pretty damned awesome

"Just a rocket landed" folks, this is what happens when your mind is vandalized by Fox News.
Really? Why be a douche and make this somehow political? Since, however, you want to be political it was a replican president who ended the shuttle program and pushed for the private sector to take up the cause of sending payloads into space. Your welcome.
If, however, we can just enjoy the ingenuity and science, that was epic! When they (space x) finally got one to land the first time i watch it over and over... its so phenominal. The tech alone is worth pursuing and associated applications that come from it, no matter if we ever colonize mars or the moon or not.

The book burning has started
by pale.emperor indon't know if this is a global thing but i've just been told by a pimo member of my old congregation that a min servant has been given the task of destroying all old books/literature in the kh library prior to 1992.. could be the elders (or even one of them) on a mission to stamp out dissent as my ex-wife used the same reasoning to her elder dad that i used in my jc: rutherfords books containing failed predictions.. anyone else heared anything?.
the ms who's been given the task is a company man.
no hope of him keeping them or selling them on ebay.. they have some russell books in that library too.

Poor bobby.... the bible never said nor used nor implied “overlapping” generations. It used the word generation, singular. In the first centery the time between jesus words and the event he refered to, the destruction of jerusalem, was a mere 30 years. A generation.
Also undermining your redilious argument is the words of the wt bible amd tract society itself which taught for over 100 years that a generarion didnt overlap. They obly changed their minds when the generation that saw the events of 1914 died and they had to make something new up.
Its sad bobby that you have to do so much in the way of mental gymnastics to make things work as a witness...

PORTUGAL: Filed a petition to the parliament to erase the legal entity of the Jehovah's Witness
by EdenOne inbased on legal arguments that revolve around violations of several articles of the portuguese constitution, and of the law of religious freedom, a petition to the portuguese parliament has been set in motion to extinguish the legal entity that represents the jehovah's witness in portugal and remove this community from the national register of recognized religions protected by law.
the petition does not seek to ban the jehovah's witness as a whole in the country.
the petition denounces the institutional policy of shunning former members as a violation of basic human rights and psychological torture, and asks the portuguese legislators and judicial authorities to take action to stop this abuse, and suspend legal recognition to the branch office entity until the policies of shunning are changed.

And if you think you know what your getting into if you accept baptism...your an idiot.
children/teenagers have that crutch to some degree (although growing up in the org they see enough to know EXACTLY what df’ing means), adults don't. If it makes you feel better now to say you didnt know then enjoy.... but we all knew. We just didnt see it for what the evil it was.

Verify: latest elder book
by Gorbatchov infor research i want to verify this:.
- has the latest version of the elder book (recent) a new text about child abuse and put aside the 2 witness rule in these cases?.
need to clarify.. g..

Lol its a semantic game, gorby. ALL sins that could lead to a JC are investigated no matter how many witnesses. INVESTIGATED just means “hey bro perv did you do this?” If he says no then there is no JC. Nothing has changed.

When my jw joined he was NOT told many things! I told him many things, printed out from the old Quotes site, many of your stories here, news stories, etc... He would then go to the elders about some of it and they would minimize what I had said, said it was out of context, refused to let him see the actual books the quotes came from and on and on. It was like WW3 here between me, the elders and a very confused and gullible (?) man. I then spent a small fortune buying a few old jw books and some reprinted (example-Millions book) from Freeminds and elsewhere but by then he wouldn't look at them and he and the elders claimed an apostate probably made them and changed them to make jw's look bad.
Theres a lot to respond to there but first what does “joined” mean? To a witness, “joined” means baptized. Some of your remarks lend to an understanding that he wasn't baptized per say but rather studying.
Also some of your remarks seem to indicated that you think jw history is the same as jw rules. Its not. You soent a lot of time digging up jw history and exposing the white wash job they on that. Well done. Its a good way to help someone being indoctrinated to see things a bit differently. But thats not the same as not being told the rules. 99% of jw’s know nothing of their history. Hes a grown ass man. Hes married. If he was baptised he knew the rules. Please observe the following screen shots that show the questions asked before they are baptized. It shows clearly the questions on disfellowshipping and the source material in the same book.
So yes, maybe he was not told all the rules because they were too busy trying foil my attempts to get him to think and question. As you well know they held out a carrot even his wife could not compete with, a chance in paradise earth.
uhm... what? I see the bitter coming from you and its probably well deserved, but you dont really think that with 24 hours in a day they “couldnt tell him the rules” because they were trashing you..? Really? Is it just too painful to admit that he bought into a cult? Most everyone on this board did. Sounds like you saved him at some point. Be proud of that. Most never get out.
If the organization has only an unspoken rule about shunning then there is not much one can do.
Its not unspoken. Its spoken. And written. Every jw knows it.
Baptism as a minor with all that entails for a jw is unconscionable.
I could not agree more.

When my jw joined up he was not told about all the rules.
Nonsense. Before baptism jws are required to go through three separate one hour (or more) sessions answering around 300 questions that deal with every aspect of jw life including the obligation to shun. Its sad and frankly awful but no one can claim they didnt know. Also no one can get baptized in a short period of time (one or two months) and then claim they didnt know. You have to study for months (sometimes years) then go out in field service consistently (sometimes a year or more) before you can be considered to go over the questions for baptism.
Maybe he had buyers remorse. Maybe he was just really bamboozled (lots of us were) but to say he didnt know? Dosent add up.
As for the OP... have fun titling at that windmill. If a petition makes you feel better then petition away.

Watchtower May 2018
by Listener inthe may 2018 watchtower is now out and thought i would make a few observations.in this article we get a story about gb sam herd.
the recurring theme throughout is the struggles he has had as a black man.he was born in 1935 in a one roomed log cabin in liberty indiana.
his mother raised him in the baptist church.

Reads like a well written eulogy for Sam Herd even though he is still alive. Maybe a prophecy or prediction the GB will eventually get right. Now we understand why they just appointed another GB member.
Not to be goolish but its a predicition that is guaranteed to be correct for all of them. And all of us. There is no panda petting paradise.
