I have often thought no longer being an elder was getting 20-30 hours a week back. It was an unpaid job. Then as you mention all the running around for meetings as well.... it was rediculious but a purposeful hamster wheel to keep you from thinking too much

Time Gained by Leaving JW World
by Farmer Jim1 indoes anyone else wonder at the amount of time a person immediately gains when they leave the jws?.
just today, a sunday, i would have woken up at 7, frantically taken a highlighter pen to my wt to make it look like i had made a deep study of it.
packed my stuff for meeting and ministry, cycled to the kh, joined the pre meeting ministry arrangement, rushed back for the meeting, sat through a sometimes interesting public talk, sometimes mind-numbingly dull one, strained through a wt study to which i usually had more questions than answers.

AUSTRALIA: Religion start selling real estate assets to pay compensation to child abuse victims following Child Abuse Royal Commission
by jwleaks inpaying for the sins of their church.
australians are becoming less religious so congregations are getting smaller.
that means there are fewer parishioners to contribute money.. ..."they're simply looking at the dollars they can reap from the sale of this wonderful old building and i simply don't feel that i should be spending my weekends keeping the view clear," mr thomas said.. ...the royal commission into child sexual abuse exposed widespread paedophilia within religion and concluded that its leaders were at times weak, ineffectual, and even complicit.. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-03-30/paying-for-the-sins-of-their-church/9586602.

Lloyd’s new book
by jwfacts ini see there has already been discussion over lloyd’s new book how to leave the jehovah's witnesses.
this includes discussion around his personality, motives and financial gains.
i have written a foreword for this book, because it is an important topic that has not been covered in such a complete format before.

Hmmm... ive reread my word and cant find where i say i give a damn if anyone likes llyod or not. In fact i said “he has helped people” and commended that. I also didnt say paul WAS influenced. Please read what i wrote, not what what you think i wrote. I said paul SEEMED to be hung up on peoples comments regarding money.
no i have not written a book, unless you count my many posts here as a single volume.

paul, you seem unduly influenced by the talk of Lloyd making money. Largely, i haven't seen that to be peoples key issues with him.. in fact most of who have problems with him have outlined very specific behaviors and instances of misbehavior that bother us. Nothing to do with money.
Its also disappointing to see you distill all of this into simple "us against them" terms, as if we all (as ex jaw's) must think and agree on everything. The simple truth is even you describe lloyd as "a big personality". polite society knows that referring to someone as a "big personality" is simply another way of saying "jack ass".
The enemy of my enemy does not have to be my friend. clown who storm kingdom halls are not my friends. I despise them and their grandstanding tactics. They are not only pointless they are counter productive. Lloyd does not fall into that category, and many have comment on the benefits they got from his work.. again "dilly dilly"! for that im happy, sincerely and from the bottom of my heart. He HAS helped people. that dosent mean i have to like him as a person. it damn sure doesn't hurt other ex jaw's because i think he's a douche.

Paul, pardon the forth right nature of my question, but why is so important for you to defend that jack wagon? As i and others have observed, your at opposite ends of the personality and behavioral spectrum from lloyd. Its difficult to reconcile your passionate defense.
To each his own and all that, and while i cant stand him i understand some do like him and have benefited, and to that i say “dilly dilly!”... but you started a thread and have continued to be defend him. I feel as if im missing something. It almost feels like your pushing for us to like him and embrace him dispite what some have expressed as reasonable issues/concerns with his behavior and thats what i cant understand, the seeming desire for us to like him as you do.

I would like to emphasise the point made by '_Morpheus'
Did you bracket my name to draw attention to it? Are you suggesting that perhaps i am not the god of dreams??? Do you really believe that i am not the one who freed neo from the matrix????? Present your evidence or apologize, swine.

Three Simple Reasons Why an Assault-Weapons Ban Is Bad Policy
by freemindfade ini keep saying this is a bad place/policy to put all the time, energy and resources if you really do in fact care, or if you are just riding the agenda bandwagon: .
an assault-weapons ban is irrelevant to suicide deaths.
the large majority of gun deaths are suicides, and there is no credible argument that an assault-weapons ban will have the slightest effect on suicide.
