JW's are slaves- but not in a good way

i was reading about the american slave trade again recently.

as anyone who has read anything about the subject knows, it makes for very uncomfortable reading.

every time i read the history, i'm left with a sense of outrage and seething anger at the pure inhumanity and injustice of what life must have been like for those people.

Also never forget it was blacks who started slavery. It was the white man who ended it. Blacks still practice slavery to this day.

Also also there is no “good” form of slavery, workout exception. Indentured servitude is simply a whitewashed term. Its slavery by any other name.

Are the 8 superstar Popes planning a purge?

there are over 8 million jdubs and i would venture a guess that at least 20% to 30% are pimo.

in my opinion, the kingdom hauls are only half full for two reasons....many have left but the majority are pimo and any little excuse will keep them home and they will report their token ghost hours in service.

all it takes to stay home is being tired, too much school homework or i will go next week, no doubt many have taken part-time jobs and the fear of working the second shift and the guilt of missing meetings is gone.

Beard update

so it's been over a month since i decided to grow a beard.

the mustache and chin have come in fuller than i ever imagined - while the cheeks leave me wondering if i'll ever grow enough hair to make it not look so wildly unkept and patchy (if anyone has any advice here it'd be much appreciated).

but in the mean time i'll give it another month and see how it goes.. .

it’s been a while since i posted, but for those who remember, i came on here to get some information about jehovah’s witnesses because i have a nephew who was getting engaged to a girl who was a jehovah’s witness and, along with some other sites, i was recommended this one.. since then we’ve been busy with passover and jehovah’s witnesses have had something they call the memorial of christ’s death (i believe i have that right).

this clashing of the two observances apparently did more for this girl than anything else i ever saw in our months of conversations with her.. respectfully, jews do not proselytize.

these are people who, of their own desire, “join the tribe” after some years of study and practice--something this girl has just begun to do.

By the way, for the comments as to how long it takes to become a JW, it can be done with fresh meat in as little as 6 months, just have to time the study start and the baptisms correctly... I think we should strive for as few baptisms as possible however.

6 months is very unusual in my neck of the woods. From first contact to bible study then to be qualified to go in service then to have been going in service long enough to establish some consistency them for a ca or da to roll around and go over questions and then be dunked.... 6 months is a hell a sprint for all that. Im not calling you a liar.... but thats not normal. For people to be indocrinated, prove their commitment to the cult and be dunked is minimim a year around here and usually two... but in the end the exact time wasnt my point. Ole midge was saying it took a couple of years to convert as if that was relevant to her sales pitch. I was pointing out jw conversions also take time. So what?

As for striving for as few baptismsas possible... isnt the goal zero?

And midge.... you did leave in a huff dear. Nobody was mean to you. If your goal was just to talk about this girl there was no need for the sales pitch. You got mad when you were called out on it. Nobody demanded you stop. Plenty of people were happy to talk about your non religion culture that is alao a religion that you have to be born into unless your converted and accepted after being born into it.. or whatever you said last. also making repeated posts attempting to insult people who disagree by refering to their cult past is laughable. We do that to each other all the time. Your attempt at it wasnt even a good one. Also also making repeated good bye posts sort of negates them all. You realize it takes at least two years to become a jw, right? Or do you not care anymore than i do as to how long it takes to convert to judaism..? And dont call me surely.

All I said is she has merely started the process, meaning she has just begun to inquire. She is doing this because she wants to get married and wants to have children and raise them in a society...

Im not sure what your recruiting pitch has to do with that but perhaps you figure one jw girl bought it with an explanation of the flawed date of the memorial perhaps others will too.... i dont look down on your efforts, rabbi. Some people may well benefit from the community and structure that your sect of the jewish cult provides.

to date, 3.5 million dollars was collected and 75 acres was purchased.

the branch decided that this assembly hall was not needed.
