Wealth, Poverty, and Morality
by SecondRateMind ini am interested in the approach this forum takes to money.
apart from sex, (which i am quite relaxed about) it seems to me that wealth is the surest divider between those who are moral, and those who are not.. it seems jesus thought so, also.
luke 16:19-31 kjv describes well enough his dusty attitude to the rich who do not succour the poor.. and this world has many poor: so many, it might seem that we can do nothing about it, and twist his words; 'the poor ye shall have always with you, but me, ye shall not have always.

SRM believes his actions towards the poor will have consequences in terms of eternal rewards or punishment.
There is absolutely nothing voluntary about that.Exactly my point

Lol what crap. If you dont give away all your money you hate poor people and want to see them starve. Unforgivably stupid.

Lol oh srm... without double standards you wouldnt have any standards at all. I declare you: a liar. Liar liar pants on fire. You just said:
motivated by love, and never by compulsion.
A week ago you said:
Cofty, do you really think the callous rich should get the best of this life, and the best of the next, too? I'm afraid goodness doesn't work like that. Justice will be done. So I believe.
Rotflmao!!!! Threat of eternal damnation isnt compulsion? Lying douche.

@stillin- âbarking up the wrong treeâ refers to hunting dogs tracking an animal and, litterally, âbarking up the wrong treeâ. Some animals climb up a tree and then jump to another, confusing a tracking animal.

Interesting thoughts terry... what is also interesting is that some of those are still in wide usage and not going away. The entomology may be lost on the younger generation but the common usage remains. Examples:
âhang up the phoneâ- still very very common. Although kids dont really know where it came from its still a very common phrase for ending a call. Kids will even say âyou hang up firstâ
âDrop a dimeâ still very common, even used in modern songs, to describe snitching. Im in my mid 40âs and pay phones have been gone at least half my life. Even when they were around they cost .25, not a dime, however that common usage is still prevalent.
âRewindâ- still universal as well. Why? Be ause evem though videos are digital devices like tivo and other dvrs (digital vedo recorders) use a ârewindâ button to go back on action. That phrase isnt going anywhere either, although again the origin is likely lost on anyone under 30
i think your post speaks a lot to the evolution of language and common usage of words. We offen say things that have an understood or common meaning wothout understanding where it came from. We live in a unique time with technology driving so many innovations that we are, in a very real way, seeing phrases become outmoded from a practical standpoint but stay around because of common usage.

Its easy to tap dance on their grave and feel justified but seizure of property creates a lot of bad feelings among others who would invest in the country. Its a bad precedent and especially in a country with deep communist roots

Im not sure where that quote came from but i will treat it as legit and truly from the org for the purpose of my reply...
immediately i have a problem with it... they will report if the child is still in danger... really? Cause being raped once isnt worthy of reporting???? Who determins still in danger? If someone says âoh i wont do if againâ is that considered danger free?
Its simple. Report all abuse. Dont discourage anyone else from reporting. Anything less than that isnt enough. They are a church and have ZERO legal authority and shouldnt be involved in any way.
