Not only is it a stero type its outdated. My 90 year old great uncle uses his computer everyday. My father (same age as gb members) is a huge techno guy. Thats not the issue for the gb... the problem is they live a huge bubble. They are insulated from society, quite literally. What they know of social norms and societal trends come up to them from the co’s who get a lot of it from the rank and file. They are txt book dwellers in ivory towers. Bethel is just like that and they are the top of the bethel food chain.

Maybe the video feeds to all the halls didn't bring in as many donations as wanted.
And THAT is probably a big factor

Maybe there is some sort of crisis going on at the headquarters and things are falling apart quicker than we expected.
Rotflmao!!!! Slim, you remain a treasure. Never ever change :)
its nothing. Some may have gotten accustomed to fanfare and broadcast of the annual meeting but it really hasnt happened much. This the norm. Nothing to see here.

How many here think Trump's news conference this evening was absolutely brilliant
by ShirleyW ini'm being serious, i would like to hear from folks here that support him describe to me how that news conference was absolute brilliance, he answered all the questions, he knows what he is talking about.
just want to compare note with those who aren't his supporters (and have common sense) as you know this forum is here to hear both sides, so, have at it .

The people who think he is a genius are very similar to the people who will believe anything the watch tower says.

Dirt Fishing - Latest Coin Finds
by cofty init's that time of year again when i can get back on the fields with the metal detector looking for ancient stuff.
the first field to be harvested was full of peas - ideal as it leaves no stubble and it's a two minute walk from my house.
it has given up two coins in two visits this week.. the first one is a cut-half silver penny from the reign of henry ii.

EU Court Ruling Against WT on Data-Protection
by cofty intoday's london times reports on the july ruling of the eu court that forces the organisation country to comply with data protection.. the action originated in finland but the ruling will affect every eu country.
the cult tried unsuccessfully to argue that the notes taken by jws in the door-to-door work were personal and not accessed by the congregation.
the court ruled that they are acting under the auspices of the congregation and therefore they must comply with data-protection laws.. keeping lists of do-not-calls also falls under this ruling.. why does the cult always feel that it is above the law?.

JW org collapses
by I Faded Twice inok so this is a topic i've pondered and go back and forth on.. i can easily see a point where lawsuits cause massive deficits in the organization.
honestly i feel like we are seeing the tip of the iceberg in regards to lawsuits on child abuse.
to me it looks like the property sell offs are to be able to get ready for this.

Lets try this one more time....
Take out the kids not baptized and all the missing ones and you have less then 5 million baptized members maybe even less then 4 million.
You cant take missing ones out of the number. They are are already “missing”

Smh.... how can you take out “ missing” ones? By definition they are already missing. Stop trying to be smart.

Your faling into the slim trap of counting buildings.
It. Dosent. Matter.
if you put a every single jw in a building by themself and say you have 8 million congregations thats the exact same membership as having all 8 million in one congreation
