  OK smart ass lets call them personal assault weapons

  I hesitate to point this out but thats not a definition. Also, when defining a word you should not the use the word you are attempting to define. An example of failure would be attempting to define “assault weapon” by a “personal assault weapon”. Adding “personal” doesn't define the word assault.

  Care to try again? Im willing to bet you will fail agin, thus illustrating the problem in an attempted ban. You have to define something precisely to legally ban it.

  so my mum died from mild form of lukemia which can simply be treated with a blood transfusion each month.

  to me this was a watchtower assisted suicide.

  the liaison elder encouraged her to "stay strong" and said a prayer.

  i wanted to share some thoughts about jehovah's witnesses and their door-to-door preaching.

  door-to-door preaching is supposedly about gathering converts, but in fact, as we frequently discuss, doesn't actually bring that many "sheep-like ones" in.

  i want to suggest that a second meaning (what we call the latent meaning in academia) is facilitating surveillance of the congregants who attend some congregation.

  How easily some forget the orgs history. It started out as having a free sales force. Any other benefits are ancillary and coincidental. It evolved over time into something of a loyalty test as well. Suggestions of “surveillance” are at best paranoid and poorly thought out.

  This is gonna make me as popular as a ginger stepchild but I don't think US citizens should have the right to bear arms in public.

  I have no idea why you mention this as it was not factor in the shooting being discussed. California has some of the most strict gun laws in the country. Open carry is not legal and was not a factor.

  Morph, did you know that some people want to get rid of the Constitution? Tough to believe, right??

  Hard to believe? I was replying to one. He called the constitution an “old document” and tried to call people who respect it and support it “worshippers”. Yea i believe those morons abound and will themselves “worship the old document” when it suits them.

  i'm not up on this, usually try not to be, but how can this not be manipulative?
