As the manual posted earlier stated, if a JC was in process, that would end but would be put in the local file along with the notification to the Branch about the DA. If the person came back, then the original JC matter would be reopened.

Yes. In the end the two forms of status (df’d and da’d) are the same to them. The announcement is the same. “Publisher X is no longer one of jw’s”. Fading is the only way to have a shot at not being shunned and its certainly not a given.

Cited on page one of this thread, the ks txt book, chapter nine, paragraph two. Elders are not to try and force anyone to DA. Reading isnt your strong suit. Makes me question all those “i read a book that said...” threads you make.

i correctly stated:

I will extend it to say “either you are df’d, you take the initiative to da yourself (such as writing a letter) or you are inactive” There remains no policy where they try to force someone to da. As steve stated, local elders may do whatever they do, its not policy.
It is also policy that you can da by actions, as simon noted. Thats not them making you write a letter, as has been pointlessly debated in the face of evidence to the contrary.
To the OP’s question, no there is still no ask you to write a letter policy.

The latest elders manual makes no mention of asking somone to write a letter. In fact it specifically says that elders are not push someone to DA. Here is the relevant page. Note paragraph 2.
