Has the WT ever said it's okay to steak rare?
by neverendingjourney ini'm revisiting an old topic here, but this was a subject of much confusion for me when i was still a witness.
i went to a spanish congregation in the u.s. and it seemed to be taken for granted by most that you needed to cook beef thoroughly to "get rid" of the blood.
i was surprised when i learned that folks in the english speaking hall would order a steak medium-rare and think nothing of it.. it wasn't until after i left the witnesses that it started to occur to me that if the red fluid that was present when you'd cut the beef was blood, cooking it thoroughly wouldn't get rid of it, it'd just cook it and transform it into another color.

Labeling one self "Atheist" is Unscientific
by LAWHFol ini have not meet all atheists, and it would be foolish for me to assume that all atheists, share the same prototypical view points.
i am inclined to feel that this classifies the views of a large percentage of atheists.
"atheism is, in a broad sense, the rejection of belief in the existence of deities.

It's the kind of people who are able to think that God created the universe for the delight of their eyes...Then, it's not surprizing that they think that God created the woman for the pleasure of their dick... -

where there was a conflict between the Bible and science, the Bible would prevail, because all scripture is "inspired by God"
by freemindfade inthought i would put this in its own thread.
it another embarrassing statement from the rc (royal commission not regional convention lol).
it's not even one about abuse, its about the jw's stance on science and the bible.

Wait...
...slavery was clearly condoned in the Bible; does that mean that that "principle" should endure forever? He! I just come back from lapidating my wife because I found her cheating to me!

I wonder if French JWs eat Steak tartare that is minced and completely uncooked and served with a raw egg on top?
Oh yes! I can say that french, even JW,s are fond about steak tartare... And most of them, like almost all french like their meat (very) rare.. All of them always said "It's not blood, it's meat juice"
And we eat a lot of living oyster, frog, shrimp and prawn. And without to bleed them of course! And I never ear a JW wonder if the fish they eat was bleed!
In fact, they almost only check in black sausage and pork products... -

In the JW-mind, "religion" = "Catholic roman church in occidental rich countries "...
Because, to ask the question "Is religion dying out ?", you have to choose to don't take in count :
- almost all facts about Islam
- almost all the facts obout asiatics religions
- almost all the facts about catholic, protestants and evangelical success in south america and Africa...
- almost all the facts about orthodox churches in eastern-europe and western-Russia
- and a lot of another facts
In fact, all that in mind, When you ask the question "Is religion dying out ?", you ask in fact "Is MY religion dying out ?"

How much damage has internet done against the The Watchtower Society ?
by opusdei1972 inin the beginning of internet the society was worried about the information published exposing its falsehood.
so, i wonder how many people lost the society on account of forums and web sites like this.

July 19th Watchtower Summary. Insanity
by Lemonp injust got back from the wt study and it overall was just so blindingly biased and leading.. i had to read it from the platform too, i hope they couldn't see the confounded look on my face as i read this craziness out!.
first we consider the faith of abel, enoch, noah, abraham, isaac and jacob, and moses.. all of these people are held up as sterling examples of blind faith, with the article pointedly saying that their imaginations sustained their faith in gods promises for them.
no mention anywhere at all that all of these characters saw and talked to angels, spoke to god himself, saw and performed miracles, or any of the other feats experienced by these characters.

So brothers, don't worry about what you believe! Just make sure you believe!
I think you have the point.
Great summary of WTBTS "thinking".
