This is so depressing. Sad doesn't come close to capturing it.

Thank you everyone. I can't go back to school for at least a decade. Sole provider with young children. Ill wife that has a permanent disability. One of my children just finished a 3 year chemo treatment plan. Now we have the side effects of that we are paying for. Psychiatric help, physical therapy, private tutoring so he can catch up to his age group academically.

I just turned 41 today. Last year was my first celebration at 40. Half my life is lost to this cult and I celebrate by almost losing my job. One of the only things I have left. I kept my job by eating crow with the CFO at the company today that has had it out for me. The joys of not having an education with limited opportunities.
I love good old Irish luck. If it weren't for bad luck I wouldn't have any. You'd think with 7's all over my bday i'd have better luck.
Not that I believe in luck. Just crying a pity party today. Yaay! Heres to getting older. I'll be surprised if I make it to 60.

Who is your favorite thinker pt 2.
by The Rebel inonce upon a time i started a thread who is your favorite thinker and got many responses.
however revisiting that thread i noted we were to modest to name ourselves or fellow posters.
i therefore think we are either complete idiots, or modesty aside we should now name names, and restrict our answers to posters on the board.. so who on this board is your favorite thinker and why?.

I also really enjoy Terry's style of writing. He has a way with words.

100-million man hours
by Coded Logic inthe james webb telescope is set to launch in october of 2018 and will allow us to study the formation of first generation stars, the molecular clouds that became the first galaxies, and directly image exoplanets.
roughly one hundred times more powerful than the hubble space telescope the jwst is going to push back the current boundaries of science.. this is what 100-million man hours can accomplish.. .

TB & Problem Addict you are emphasizing the point exactly as I intended.
Hyperbole!!
This is my last post on this series. Just trying to drive the point home.
Sometimes even hitting people over the head with a concept doesn't work. Like the old saying goes you can lead a horse to water but you can't force it to drink.

Kate I'm sure most jihadis have families. Kiss there kids at night, tuck them in, read to them. Enjoy meals with friends and family. Want what they believe is best for those they care about.
Some Muslims believe jihad is an inner struggle. I respect jihadis to much as people to respect their beliefs. A belief system and an individual are 2 different things. There are varying belief systems and they all have consequences. Some of them more severe than others and deserving a response in kind.

Not when my wife was hit as a teenager by a drunk driver going 60 to 65 mph. Her body not her car that left her permanently disabled. Or when she ended up in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit when our son was a year old to be told she has a chronic condition called perarcarditis (inflammation of the sac surrounding the heart) that gets worse with age. Or when my beautiful 5 year old boy was diagnosed with leukemia. I can go on but why.
