How can anyone who is truly spiritual-minded attend Bethel and not realize it's all a scam

not that i was any better(lol - but as i sat back and thought about the time i spent there, and the things i saw i feel disgusted.. i could literally write a thousand stories about the discrimination, favortism and all out dishonest that took place but i doubt anyone would actually care.

the one thing however that really sticks out in my mind is when i was in a nice room with my roommate that he kind of inherited after his previous roommate left.

it actually had a bathroom and we both had space for real beds(not those dang trundle beds like we had in standish).. .

Edinburgh Business Trip

Again thank you all for your loving and kind words. She was released Friday and home recovering. Having family now would be not only helpful but really needed.

I think back to when I was in and reflect on the extremely limited assistance I received from them. With the exception of my Mom. Who has challenges of her own as a single woman in her 70's. I only ask for her help when I have no other choices. The rest of the family is too busy with their crapcratic duties. Most of my family came by one or twice in the 3 years that my son was going through treatment. They all live within driving distance in southern California.

When my wife was in the hospital this week her sister came by a couple of times. Her sister doesn't know we're out. I was trying to arrange to drop her off at home on a Tuesday due to her having car troubles. Since my office is over an hour from the hospital and I would get back to the hospital around 6 she tells me she can't miss her meeting. This was when my wife her sister had fluid building up in her lungs and was in constant pain. I looked at her and said "you see your sister there in a hospital bed and your worried about making your meeting, really." She didn't go that day. So my wife was alone all day.

I wanted to say so much more. I hate this dann cult.

because it was aimed at young people and it said something along the lines, "if you believe in god you have a purpose, but if you don't believe in god your life has no purpose or meaning".

i think that is a faulty analysis of the situation.

John Man I don't need a totalitarian dictator in the sky telling me how I should act. In fact the most effective method I have found with my children is the principle of empathy. Not hard. No god needed. It also has a clear evolutionary explanation unrelated to Cofty. If he is your reference point you really haven't done your research.

Look to see how many people have died of AIDS in Africa due to the Catholic position. It's disgusting. But it fits within the narrative of the cult of human sacrifice that all theists believe in. Truly disgusting.

John Mann life is more meaningful and precious now that I'm almost certain there is no afterlife. Are you catholic? You went from a modern day abusive cult to one of the originals that is responsible for hundreds of thousands of child abuse victims and millions dying too young in Africa due to the condom use ban.

See this is what a theist morality gets you. A human sacrifice cult that thinks it's merciful that a billion people go to purgatory just because they were born on the wrong continent. And you theists wonder why you are derided here and ever more so in the public square.

Looter. When my 5 year old son was in the hospital with complications of chemo treatment for leukemia and as I jolted out of a slumber at 1AM to very young children screaming in pain literally woke me up to the ridiculousness of a god, much less a loving one.

Over 9 million children under the age of 5 die every year. Many in horrific pain. What do you have to say about the billion plus Hindus that happened to be born into a polytheistic family and culture.

Theism is truly a disgusting and reprehensible belief system.

Thank goodness she is improving. I was getting scared with the fluid building up in her lungs. That has been fixed by the wonderful specialists. She also had the incision stitched up today and got up some.

Thank you all for your dear thoughts. Including those that pm'd me. I am very uneasy when it comes to all things medical related. We have had a lot of serious scares over the last few years.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. Sitting next to a hospital bed wrecks me. All the memories with my son. Now my wife. It's difficult not to get mad that my family can't even send a text message. She is doing a little better now. I broke down at the hospital tonight. Hoping the worst is behind us.

My wife is in the hospital. Complications of a ruptured appendix. She had it removed around 1AM Friday morning. Part of her intestine removed. Now she is in continous pain, is dry heaving, and has fluid in her lungs.

We have 2 small children. Fortunately my mom still helps, but she has to deal with the rest of my family some that live with her shunning us. She literally has to hide when she is with us.

I don't know how much more shit I can take. We just can't seem to catch a break. I don't know what I'm going to do without her. I'm scared.
