Nasty nitty. What a grotesque thing to state in the OP. You should be ashamed of yourself. Only a religionist could say, believe, and practice the things you do and say.

On the Relevancy of The Institutionalization of Sin
by Perry inchild murder, sodomy & corrupting the human genome are not new sins, they are old ones.
what is new is their institutionalization.
but even that isn't totally new.

what an interesting find for me
by sowhatnow inim sure to use this the next time i accidentally get sucked into an argument with someone.
im not ever understanding the idea behind any christian religion picking and choosing what they want to believe and follow, then have the nerve to claim they are right, when clearly this is obviously done.
here is a site that shows not only how bloodthirsty and evil the god of the hebrew bible was, but how more ridiculous it is for jws to follow one twisted 'commandment' about eating blood, not only reading it wrong, but then not to do all the other commandments, willingly , do they think they are ancient israelites ?

Tax-exempt Status of Churches and the Gay Marriage Decision
by lambsbottom init will be interesting to see what will happen with the "beloved" 501c3 tax exempt status which the churches hold so dearly onto.
the first-century christians met in homes.
they did not have exemption from taxes to the governments.

Let the lawsuits begin. I guess it's time for me to get my law degree. I'd make a killing with this. -

All bigoted religious entities should lose their tax exempt status. Hospitals, food banks, and others that practice bigotry should lose their tax exempt status. Losing such has nothing to do with tyranny. It is tyranny to have the government favor groups that practice bigotry no matter what good they may do. If a charity wishes to continue helping others they should be given a set period of time to disassociate themselves from bigoted groups. Religion does not deserve any respect or special consideration.
It is time to treat them as what they are, corporations. All corporations pay taxes, and so should religious ones. Last time I checked psychiatry firms pay taxes.
I reiterate that I believe this may be the beginning of the end for religions sway in this country. If people want to believe in fairy tales and aliens that's their business. They just shouldn't get special treatment for believing nonsense.

You guys really think they would give a talk in a kingdom hall for a gay couple. I don't know what kh you were going to but here in liberal california that would not fly. I know many a jw that would walk right out the door with that one. -

I believe this will be a big hit to most religious organizations. Especially fundamentalists.
What I wonder is which ones will wheather this storm. I believe JW's are certainly in trouble since they do no good for society at large and are extremely bigoted. Will they move their headquarters overseas. Launder their money through their recent land grab. The Catholic church will get through this since they have their own "country". Though they will be seriously bruised along the way. What about all the ones in between?
Thoughts.

The Bible is NOT Error-Free
by FusionTheism infor many christians, the bible is viewed as the 100% error-free, perfect book straight from god, where every single word was carefully chosen by god for a reason.
but, usually, when you have a discussion on the topic, these christians will end up saying that only the original copies written directly from the hands of the prophets and apostles were error-free, and all manuscript copies since then are subject to copyist mistakes and other errors.. since zero original copies are in existence, how do we know the originals were error-free?
why should we think the originals should be error-free to begin with?
