Does this make you feel good? Coz it makes me feel bad.....
by ScottyRex ini just watched this clip on youtube....i can't begin to say how it made me feel.
, i'm not sure who i am more annoyed about.
the bloke doing the commentry, the punk shouting at a serious and should be respectful religious event, or some of the youtube comments that follow.. and i find this so disrespectful.

Everyone has a right to criticize. I'm not arguing against that. What I am saying is that arm chair criticism is harmful. He was not violent. Their so called sacred ceremonies are not untouchable. This belief system warrants mockery in every shape and form. I would not do something like this and it is few and far between. I don't know how it would have impacted me when I was in. It's likely that several of the men in the hall I was in would get at least verbally aggressive if not even physically so. That would help wake people up.
The other point I'm making is directed at the original poster ScottyRex. The last time he posted months ago he was criticisizing YouTube activists. Some who helped me tremendously when I was first exiting. He strikes me as an anti ex jw.
I guess the inner strife and criticism of those giving a damn is pissing me off. I'm not hoping for unity of thought. As that is exactly what we left. Just giving some leeway to those trying. Damn there are many YouTubers and activists I don't care to listen to any more. I don't criticize them though because I believe they each serve a purpose.

I wonder if this happened at the same time throughout the world what impact it would have. Bursting the bubble of belief so many have of Jahs protection. In my opinion to many are acting like this was some sort of horrific act. Their ceremonies do not merit respect or consideration. If we lived in a different time or were an offshoot of Islam our lives would be in jeopardy.
I am not an activist. I would like to be but can't due to time constraints and other pressing obligations. I refuse to criticize activists. Including those I disagree with. I draw the line at violence, and believe that sort of behavior should be prosecuted and widely condemned. Civil disobedience however is a time and again proven tactic.

The last time Scotty Rex posted it was to criticize activists. It seems like that is all he/she posts about. I for one think it's the worst type of armchair cowardice quarterbacking.
I'm almost certain Scott Rex is the type of person that came out criticizing Charlie Hebdo for their offensive cartoons after the slaughter that occurred there.
Go back to your f*ing hole Scotty. Unless you have something valuable to offer other then slamming others for giving a Damm.

I remember how I used to feel about people protesting outside conventions. I looked down on them. Now I feel sorry for them. What was done to them by this cult to make them act this way. These people need our kindness. They sure as hell won't get it any where else. -

I was born dyslexic as well. They wanted to hold me back in kindergarten. My dad refused and sent me to one of those private jw schools. When I came out I was thoroughly brain washed, but my reading skills were 2 years above my grade level.
My son struggles with his reading and writing due to the chemo he is on. I would be appalled and fight any program to lower standards. We have applied for presonal aid which he will be receiving next year and I'm confident he will catch up and surpass his classmates within a year.

REFUSING a blood transfusion because of the fear of being shunned. Any experiences?
by EdenOne ini was wondering if someone here has a personal story, or witnessed one in first hand, when someone refused to take a blood transfusion and what role the threat of disfellowshipment and shunning played in it (versus a more genuine fear of displeasing jehovah).
.
if you do, i would like to know about it.. eden.

I've been thinking of setting up a seminar for the hospital my son is going to that helps doctors and staff know how to potentially help jw parents. Something to counter act hlc. Maybe with some trial and error it could be used at other hospitals nation wide.
I got this idea from Marc and Cora.

I almost lost my son. My wife and I were all in true believers. Thankfully the law stepped in. Leukemia
We also have friends that we tried to warn months ago when we first woke up who did the same thing at the same hospital. They just got out of the icu and will be in the hospital for at least another month. I believe one of the parents may have refused blood due to shunning knowing the law would step in. Not realizing what that meant with social workers visits. I can provide more info later if you like.

does anyone have a list or great books to read for anyone searching for the real truth?
i've only ever seen the world through a jw lens and i am excited to see what other view points are out there!

I would not voluntarily vote for Carson or Chomsky. If you put a gun to my head and I had to choose or get my head blown off I'd vote for Carson to. Chomsky would let millions of Americans die and claim we deserved it for our past atrocities. -

You you quote Chomsky and Nietsche the ultimate regressive leftists. Maybe we should move this debate to another post.
