Please donate. Whether it's your time, money, or influence. The donation box at McDonalds does go to an amazing charity. Ronald McDonald Camp brought light during some very dark times for my family. It also helped my family wake up from the JW stupor we were in, by seeing the goodness of "worldly" people.
Make-A-Wish is another great one. My family has been awarded a disney cruise that we will be going on early next year. There is also Alex's Lemonade Stand, and SuperSibs to name a few. You can also help your local children's hospital.

Every day is a blessing. Thank you to all the doctors, legal entities, and scientists that have made this possible. It was December 2012 that he was diagnosed with leukemia. My beautiful boy almost died due to my dangerous belief system.
Happy Birthday Adin. I love you so much. I'm putting this out in the ether, and hopeful that this site will still be here when he's old enough to view it.
i see myself as being like the little (roomba) robot vacuum cleaner, bumping into things, turning slightly this way or that, then proceeding merrily on my way.
“yes life sucks,” i seem to say, “but life goes on--let’s make the most of it.”.
yesterday at the starbucks on the hill, i hit a bump in a conversation with a young, bearded master’s degree student.
if you were part of a judicial committee, and knowing what you know now, what was it like for you to sit on jc’s?
how did you feel if someone was reproved or df’d?
were you ever on a jc and you disagreed with someone being reproved or df’d and were overruled – how did you feel?
I was involed with 5 or 6 in my 7 years as an elder. I was a dyed in the wool true believer. I had a hand in disfellowshipping 4 people. 2 went back. I will be calling all 4 in the next couple of weeks to apologize. Not that it would make up for what I was involved with, but its the least I can do.
Once I started doing research I never went back. I couldn't even attend a funeral. I went before the propaganda session to give my condolences to the family and left.
in recent years significant progress has been made in solving the question of how life originated on our planet.. how do you think theists will respond when it finally happens?
as a former christian i know my reaction would have been something like "well that just goes to show that it takes intelligent life to make life", but for two reasons that defense doesn't work.. firstly it would prove that life is not an ethereal force that originates with god.
there is no 'ghost in the machine', no elan vital.
Atomant are you a flat earther?

Cofty don't let SBF get to you. You're better than that. Sometimes his posts are interesting, however he apparently has some sort of bone to pick with you.
SBF I thought you left? I guess you changed your mind again. What a Drama Queen.

I believe it will be some time before the majority on this planet except evolution, much less that there is likely no god(s). It's often said we're in the 21st century for goodness sake, bemoaning the lack of people's ability to accept reality.
In contrast to this view I'm amazed at how far we have come in such a short period of time. "Origin of Species" was written less then 2 centuries ago. We are essentially the same biologically speaking as we were 10,000 years ago. Emotions and the subconscious rule the day for even the most educated among us.
I believe mankind's progress on a global scale will only occur when neuroscience cracks our codex. I am hopeful that this will happen in my children's lifetime. They both have yet to see a decade pass.
