So, the Womens March ... What Is It For?
by Simon init seems like mobilizing after the election, which seems pointless.
i keep hearing demands for equal rights but don't understand what rights they are missing exactly.. normally a march is to show the support (and potential votes) for a cause, but ... votes for what?
... and the election happened already.. is anyone else confused?

Simon I see where you are coming from now. I agree the left does need introspection, and believe that much of where we are today is due to regressive leftists. This does not mean that protesting what he stands for and introspection cannot occur at the same time.
I also see what is happening today as a positive thing. Some may be just venting. Many on the right were doing just the same thing after Obama was elected. It took time for them to regroup and actually present the taxed enough already movement. It wasn't called that originally.
All movements are emotionally based. For good or ill human nature is governed by emotion. To deny that is to deny reality.Trump has tapped into that. The problem with him is that he has all the markings of a dictator. Republic's, and Democracies have been ended throughout the centuries by people like him. I believe we need both the right and left to be strong in their messaging and what they stand for, and that we need both. He however stands for himself only.

I responded to this in my other post. I didn't know you were starting this one when I started the other. Some may believe it will undo the presidency, and that doesn't undermine the main cause or what it will accomplish. Sometimes it's not about changing policy it's about protecting what we have.
One of my favorite sayings used by both sides of the aisle, is all evil takes to spread is for good people to stand by and do nothing. This man is a narcissistic demagogue. In world history these types start small and as far as I know always turn into dictators.
We have a republic that has been deteriorated over the years by both sides. Very similar to our environment. It is weaker now than it has been at any time other than the mid 19th century, and we know how that worked out.

Movements galvanizing against misogyny. He poses a clear and present danger to advancements made in women's rights. These advancements need to be defended against over the next few years. Defense is a much more difficult position than offense.
You really believe hundreds of thousands are marching as a feel good measure. How did we get where we are now with the populist movements of the right? Can anyone here remember the "Tea Party".

Wow Simon you surprise me. It seems you don't agree with protesting. And to go where you just did in such a simplistic way about rape culture in other parts of the world. Really.

It's simple. They are standing together against the misogyny of the man. This is how movements start. Often times at the beginning it is a hodge podge of ideas. The danger he poses to women's rights is palpable. If there isn't a United front against him who knows how far he will go.
It's amazing to me how anyone can say and act the way he has could become president of the free world. It's happened though, and now freedom loving equal opportunity patriots need to stand and are doing so.

My support is with the marchers in Washington and around the country today. I was raised through my formative years by my mother and sister while my father was out of the picture. They gave me the compassion I have today. I'm married to a wonderful woman, have a lovely daughter, and have a niece I love to pieces who happens to also be lesbian.
Attention needs to be kept for however long it's necessary on the misogynistic nature of this man. What we are seeing is stirred Mama bears. You don't mess with them, and he has. I believe that what we're seeing is just the beginning. It's often been said that America is like a sleeping tiger, and that you tread at your own risk by shaking a stick at it. I believe the appropriate description at this time is that America is an angry Mama bear.

A Believer you're fooling yourself. I was a 3rd generation JW. I worked at bethel straight out of high school. I was a MS through my 20's and an Elder in my 30's. I was the watchtower conductor in my congregation when my then 5 year old son was diagnosed with Leukemia. He would have died had we lived in another country that does not step in as the U.S. does when it comes to life and death medical situations.
2 years into his treatment my wife and I started researching the validity of this organization, subsequently left and lost our entire social network. To the extent that our family and friends that are still active JW's did not even respond to my invitation to his end of chemo party. Now keep in mind I'm neither DF'd nor did I Disassociate. I walked away or faded as the saying goes.
My mom still goes to meetings on occasion for fear of losing her 4 children, and over a dozen grand children that are still in. Had my grand parents known what this group would have done to their progeny they would have run in the other direction when the witnesses came knocking.

Will Donald Trump Be Impeached Before His Term Ends?
by Brokeback Watchtower ini'm thinking his willful failure to be briefed by the cia about russian election tampering and not understanding diplomatic protocall.
making off handed statements without proper research about the mater.
he's an outsider when it comes to running the government that will make big mistakes at every turn because he seems clueless when it comes to running a government.. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/michael-moore-predicts-trump-impeach-resign_us_58261464e4b0c4b63b0c6dee.

Everyone seems to forget about the mid term election. It is highly and historically likely that the democrats will regain power in the House and Senate now that the republicans have all three. It is very possible that you will see that be a campaign issue in 2018. I don't give this narcissist long before people start seeing who he really is.
For goodness sake he is claiming that he has Intel no one else does regarding Russian involvement with election hacking. This is Intel that disagrees with the CIA, and the FBI. My guess is he's getting it from the Russians. Most of the claims coming from him and his supporters against Clinton during the campaign was straight from the Russian media.
