for those claiming that- how much thought or research have you done?.
objective or non-objective?.
ever read the other books claiming to be from god?

it seems like mobilizing after the election, which seems pointless.
i keep hearing demands for equal rights but don't understand what rights they are missing exactly.. normally a march is to show the support (and potential votes) for a cause, but ... votes for what?
... and the election happened already.. is anyone else confused?
Simon it's how you continue to equate this march with the extremes that do those things. Painting with a broad brush. Mentioning on the same post about those on the left that don't think like them show black and white thinking. This is black and white thinking in itself.
Bohm, Flipper, Mrs. Flipper, and I have not done this in our posts.

Simon read your last comment if your not for them your a Nazi or a hater. There are many more where you paint with a broad brush. I wonder if you read your own words.

Simon can you say pot calling the kettle black. You have throughout this post and others like it demonstrated black and white thinking. Most who agree with me have not used the language you just tried to put on us. Can you say alternate facts.
Painting groups with a broad brush based on the worst minority in the group. Demonizing the group in the process.
Love Unite - I'm not talking about the original question. Go back and read the comments from Simon and others, and see how visceral some of the comparisons and demonizations are.
listening to 2 of my current favorite thinkers debate/discussion.
i've been looking forward to this since i found out about it a month ago.
hope some of you get a chance to listen.
Then don't listen when they do.

I think Peterson might be on to something with evolutionary archetypal mythology as an undercurrent of human development. I was hoping that was what Harris and him would cover.
It appears to me as part of his study into the evil in human nature that he has become a man that sees malice where it doesn't exist. He truly fears the naturalistic/materialistic worldview, and seems to see demons around every corner. Heavily influenced by Nietzsche, Solzhenitsyn, and Hume.
Hopefully they will have another podcast and get into a discussion that moves beyond the definition of truth.

Flipper I think it's more about people being unwilling or unable to admit their wrong. Apparently there is no middle ground on this subject. It is pretty apparent who the unhinged ones are on this topic. Post after post of one side demonising hundreds of thousands of people, the other admitting to errors yet supporting the majority of those exercising their right to freedom of speech and assembly.
I've said it before and I'll say it again the false equivalency has been astonishing. All to hold ones ground. I think it's shameful.
one of the most persistent arguments for belief in god centres on the necessity of an ultimate law-giver and epitome of goodness.. a softer version is seen in the genuine concern that a loss of faith will result in a corresponding loss of a moral compass - a more strident argument links the existence of good and evil with proof of the reality of god.
it is often asserted that without god, moral decisions degenerate to nothing more than personal preferences and the victory of "might is right".. i want to succinctly lay out my response as an atheist, and show that a supreme being is not required for objective morality.. it is helpful to distinguish between absolute morality, objective morality and subjective morality.
christian apologists frequently conflate the first two, and secular debaters often fail to point out the difference.. theists who disagree on everything else, are unanimous that god is perfectly good.
Great post Cofty. I couldn't agree with you more. And for those who haven't read the "moral landscape" should have it at the top of their reading list for 2017. Such a well laid out book and argument.

SJW - is also very closely tied to the black lives matter movement. It typically refers to people who are fighting the system for specific victim groups. This particular strain of regressive leftism is in my opinion the most damaging element therein.
