David Jay the question was whether the Bible was written by god or man. Then it was compared to other religious books by the OP. By your logic all the other so called holy books have the same merit.

So, the Womens March ... What Is It For?
by Simon init seems like mobilizing after the election, which seems pointless.
i keep hearing demands for equal rights but don't understand what rights they are missing exactly.. normally a march is to show the support (and potential votes) for a cause, but ... votes for what?
... and the election happened already.. is anyone else confused?

Simon did you read what I just wrote about demographics? I agree with Rubin and have stated so in the past. That's not the only issue though. I don't think he would take the hard line stance that you are either.
It's become obvious to me with your last post above that your ego will not allow you to budge an inch. To be disagreeable when we don't even disagree. I'm at a loss.

Different President different time. He's a populist. He craves being loved. The right did not regain power by cooperation. They did so by gathering and galvanizing those that agreed with them.
As much as I want the two sides to cooperate that is a pipe dream at this point in time. Trying to do that will ensure the left's demise.
The big question is who can get more states. It appears that there are more people on the left than in the right. The issue is more about demographics then anything else. I'm beginning to think that the only way to regain a foothold in the direction of this country is to move where the need is greater. Maybe we need to start voting with our feet.

I posted earlier that their was a difference between your posts and others that have posted similar things to yours. I'm not requesting back up I'm just mentioning them due to their recent posts similar to mine.
I didn't state "ALL". I stated that you are equating the 2.
This was day one of his Presidency and it was a shot across the bow. You are comparing this to other marches which were very different. Different time. Now defense is being played. Much harder. Trying to defend laws rather than enact them.
What do you propose? Standing idly by while the laws on the books get circumvented by executive order. Taking us back to the 50's and then start over on offense. I say the hell with that.
The right didn't get back in power by demonizing and equating the extreme elements on their side. They created a big tent. Even for the alt right mitigating their extremes by focusing on what they had in common and promoting their fear.
They get it. Emotion is where it's at. I guess an advantage of their religiosity.

Linguistics, similar previous mythologies, archeology, among many other fields of study show conclusively that the Bible is man made.
Each of the ones mentioned above has gone through multiple peer reviewed processes.

Simon it's how you continue to equate this march with the extremes that do those things. Painting with a broad brush. Mentioning on the same post about those on the left that don't think like them show black and white thinking. This is black and white thinking in itself.
Bohm, Flipper, Mrs. Flipper, and I have not done this in our posts.

Simon read your last comment if your not for them your a Nazi or a hater. There are many more where you paint with a broad brush. I wonder if you read your own words.

Simon can you say pot calling the kettle black. You have throughout this post and others like it demonstrated black and white thinking. Most who agree with me have not used the language you just tried to put on us. Can you say alternate facts.
Painting groups with a broad brush based on the worst minority in the group. Demonizing the group in the process.
Love Unite - I'm not talking about the original question. Go back and read the comments from Simon and others, and see how visceral some of the comparisons and demonizations are.

I think Peterson might be on to something with evolutionary archetypal mythology as an undercurrent of human development. I was hoping that was what Harris and him would cover.
It appears to me as part of his study into the evil in human nature that he has become a man that sees malice where it doesn't exist. He truly fears the naturalistic/materialistic worldview, and seems to see demons around every corner. Heavily influenced by Nietzsche, Solzhenitsyn, and Hume.
Hopefully they will have another podcast and get into a discussion that moves beyond the definition of truth.
