  Sad doggie news.....

  i know i don't post much, but this board has been a source of confort to me in my journey out of the borg.

  that is why i want to share with my online friends that my beagle, remington, is very ill and i would appreciate all your thoughts and prayers.

  he is only 8-yrs-old and is my baby.

  Just wanted to let you all know that Remy didn't make it home for his last weekend after all. He took a turn for the worst and we had to let him go. We got to see him first and took him home and spent time with him and our other doggie outdoors. We just buried him. He is at peace and chasing rabbits over the Rainbow Bridge in doggie heaven.....I told him he'd like it as it would be full of pig ears and blankets to burrow under. (ok.....now you all think I'm a freak, but I'm harmless, I promise! We all have our ways to handle these things and I guess this is mine.)

  thank you all for your thoughts and prayers, as it made this pass better.

  I went to see Remy tonight before I came home from work. He is still not able to eat. They wanted him to eat to do a test. They had about 5 different bowls of different foods in with him.......if he were feeling well it would be like Beagle Heaven.......and he refused to even take a taste from me. His eyes did perk up and his tail bounced up and down like a basketball when he saw me. He wanted to go with me, but couldn't hardly get up. He is not a surgical candidate and the vet says he has about a week or two left, depending on if he will eat. They are putting him on IV fluids tonight to try to perk him up. I had him stay the night again, because my mom is here and is scheduled for surgery tomorrow on the artery in her leg. So, I'm worried about that too. The plan: pick Remy up tomorrow afternoon so that he can have time at home before his time runs out. We have 13 acres and are by a river. He loved to go down to the river, so I will take him down there again and if he's too weak to walk I plan to take him in a wagon. His last days on earth will be all about him. If he worsens, then we have decided to not prolong his life at such a poor quality. I'm sobbing as I type this. Oh yes, and he has a furry brother who can't figure out where his buddy is.......he wandered from room to room last night whining. He's been glued to me all evening.

  I'm at work and the only pic I have here is a silly one when he had to where one of those cones to keep him from biting an itchy spot he had on his hind quarter....I called him Cone Head the Barbarian. :-)

  Can they not close off the shunt somehow so the blood goes through the liver again?

  Yes, that can be an option in some cases, according to my vet, but the prognosis depends on if the shunt is inside the liver or outside of it and if the animal is well enough to handle such a surgery. Right now, he's very sick and I don't know if he could handle the surgery.....and the worst thing to say, is that if it is a complicated procedure (inside the liver), I just honestly don't have the amount of money they want upfront to perform the surgery. That's the saddest part of all.....I wish it was me instead of him....at least I have insurance and would also understand what was going on. :-(

  I know I don't post much, but this board has been a source of confort to me in my journey out of the Borg. That is why I want to share with my online friends that my beagle, Remington, is very ill and I would appreciate all your thoughts and prayers. He is only 8-yrs-old and is my baby. They have been keeping him at the vet for tests and because he isn't eating and is very weak (lost 7 lbs in less than two weeks and 16 lbs total since May. They are doing tests and the preliminary diagnosis is a liver shunt, where basically a vessel forms in which blood by-passes the liver and is not filtered of toxins. Therefore, he is severely jaundiced among other things. The vet is preparing me for the worst. I have not had a doggie that has died while I still had it, so this is a very traumatic situation for me. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers!

  Is that quote by J.R. Brown on the WTS website or somewhere else online? This is a good example of the deceit that is used, but my mom would only believe it if it were on the WTS website or in a newspaper quote and not just this forum. Can someone direct me to where he stated this? Thanks!

  are there any xjw in the upstate area or tri state of nc/sc/ga that might want to get together or chat.. i orginally am from indiana, west central area.

  but since my x and i did quick builds i know alot of peeps from up in that area.. sincerely,.

  Hi! I tried to send you a PM, but I hit enter too quickly and just a blank message was sent. I tried a second time and I don't see the message in my SENT mail folder, so I just decided to post on the board and if you want to respond via PM that is fine.

  I was just curious as to where in west central IN you were from, as I grew up in east central IL, in the circuit that borders IN, so I knew quite a few from IN.

  About the convention in Illinois Thurs-Sun--I have questions!!!!

  I heard there is one in Bloomington , IL. this weekend ...am I right ?

  Yes. That is the one my mom and ex-mother-in-law are going to this weekend. I didn't know about it until my mom mentioned this past weekend when we visited her, as we were in her town to take my daughter to a Christian Summer Camp.....LOL. Anyway, mom said she wouldn't be home when we picked up my daughter as they had their convention in Bloomington. It is at a brand new colisium, as previously there wasn't a venue there for a convention and part of the Circuit went to Springfield and part went up to Romeoville (Chicago suburb). Anyway....back to the email.......your friend may not cut you off immediately, but would be strongly urged to witness to you, in order to bring you into the congregation and therefore be an approved associate. If you continue to be a non-JW, then eventually she will be pressured to end her friendship with you, because in the words of JW's, "bad association spoils useful habits". I have seen and experienced this many times. You would be considered a bad influence who could pull her away from JW 'spiritual things'. It is truly sad, isn't it? I hope that she can resist the pressure and keep your friendship.

  Anyone from Melbourne Australia?

  my husband's cousin just emailed us that her husband has been accepted to the university of melbourne's business school.

  the mba program begins in august and they will be moving then and they will be relocating either this coming august (or january if he opts to bebin the program later).

  they will be there about 20 months.
