Disfellowshipped for being complicit in someone else's sin - really?!
by Isambard Crater ina close friend of mine who is pimo (only staying in for family reasons) in a neighboring congregation called me in tears tonight saying her dad (elder) is telling her he is seriously considering reporting her to her local elders and she could get disfellowshipped.. the reason?
because she is complicit in a gross sin, according to him, by going with her best friend (not a j.w.

How can angels be sexually attracted to women?
by Island Man inthe nephilim account in genesis is utterly ridiculous when you consider that angels are sex-less beings and would therefore lack sex-drive and romantic attraction.
think of how difficult it is for humans with a sex drive to be sexually attracted to animals.
now take away that sex drive and it becomes literally impossible.

Maybe it has to do with sex without emission? ?The fallen angels (sons of god) fell by seminal emission.? Intercourse wasn't the issue, it was the seed. And mixing their DNA with humans beneath them. Why does the Bible make such a big deal in the Old Testament about the sexual emission? Kinda weird, but I did some research into the word fornication and some trace it to ejaculation, especially in the tantric and alchemical mystery religions. Perhaps angels are horny alien dudes after all...like ancient aliens on history channel describes. Why are all the mythical pantheon of gods so sexual and promiscuous ? And what's with the virgin pregnancies....? Idk. but all the above theories are fun to read...thanks for the stimulating afternoon😇

Is there any evidence that the WTS stated the 20th century would be the last?
by TTWSYF ini know that other early dates are well documented leading up to 1975. it did seemed that the wts learned to stop setting dates, but i seem to recall talk about the 20th century will certainly be the last according to god's perfect timing.
i can't recall specifically where i heard such blatant rhetoric though.. anyone?

Bungi bill and stuck in a rut... that's one of the main items that woke me up. I looked up both references, as I had the original bound volume, and saw the change. it was blatant deception and obvious attempt to cover over error. In a courtroom it could be evidence of fraud, maybe? Anyway, I threw out all of my wt publications in anger after that and never went back. John 8:44 they always preached, in reference to other religions.

Family dynamics and cult influence
by longgone inthe following incident is nothing unusual to any jw, but i wanted to add on to the list of reasons to never join, and sympathize with those stuck in it, and again a reminder that you can never get away from the mayhem when you have family still in.
in a recent conversation with my jw sister who i love very much, i was reminded how complex and abnormal relationships can become within a jehovah's witness family.families relationships can be difficult with any religion or none, but once we throw in the various labels and restrictions within the jw family it becomes really cultish.
no one outside it could begin to understand.

Lost generation has a good point about headship, but the other view is worldly hubbys don't hold much clout. They represent satanic opposition and while need to be respected aren't really given it. Worldly husbands aren't invited to committee meetings for children or wives, to my knowledge, for example. As a woman, and wife, ugh never mind. Just your title implies 50% of your problem. Do you listen to her? Rhetorical... I do totally get it, where you are coming from. She is having an affair with her religion and you are having to share her and carry a large financial load. But, She will dig in harder as you make demands on her time, and she will justify to herself that she is doing it for Jehovah and you will lose. The best thing you can do is love her, do lots of outings with the kids, invite her, but go without her on her service days and meeting days. Be a better lover then her pioneering is to her. Let the kids have you! Make the family more a family to her then the congregation is, because it will encroach. if you keep focusing on your needs, she will keep focusing on herself. Equals don't "let" each other, they support each other. If you feel unsupported then tell her that. Ask her questions about why she believes what she does, do your research and ask insightful questions that would make her start thinking about why she chooses what she does. Let her have her own mind and beliefs, not making her wrong. It seems she is feeling good about herself pioneering. You need to learn and understand the cult psychology to help her break free and restore normalcy otherwise, it could get worse, and it will be encouraged by the witnesses to "maintain her integrity in spite of your persecution". Sick, I know, But, divided households, (affectionately called by dubs with one believing mate) are perfect to foster " the persecuted by satan's world" victim theme, and she could dig in harder and be applauded to do so. Gosh, they will put her on a pedestal...sister with unbelieving husband and 3 little kids is pioneering, why can't you? She's the perfect jw pioneer example. That's hard competition for just a worldly hubby. You can't cajole her to drop it. You need to outmaneuver the propaganda. I know that's a lot to hear, and I wish you and your family (that's at stake) best of luck. You resign yourself to what is, or you get knowledgeable and change yourself. Btw, you obviously love and care about your family, don't give up. We all escaped the mind control, and with loving help and compassion from you, so can your wife, and your kids!

Talk to my Dad about beards.

i said yes, then i said, "i thought the society said its ok to have a neat trimmed beard now?
" he said "no, no, no..if you read the article , it says in countries where it is accepted" so my response was "ummm, its pretty accepted here in america"..which he says "it reflects your spirituality" "if another wittness saw you, they would know you are weak"...i was like, "ok, i don't get it, and i follow christ/god, not men..." then he said in his hall" if a brother came in with a beard , he would not have privelages" then i just gave up, and tried to change the subject..ugggggggggg if these people would just listen to themselves , they would see the sillyness of there teachings...

I love beards! My sexy hubby sports a great one. Don't you think it's funny that the first thing Jw bros do on vacation is grow a beard? Never shave. For as long as they can. And the comments about they make a guy look intelligent, (some cases anyway) remind me of the college professors , maybe that's the problem, it's too close to college. Why can men not wear metrosexual clothes and yet have to shave off a neat beard to look less masculine? Wasn't Jesus a religious rebel? Why are we not supposed to imitate the world and it's standards and yet looking to western corporations and military to set the standard of acceptable dress and grooming? Maybe wt stepped in a big pile of doo doo with this control thingy and they don't know how to clean themselves up and still not smell. 🤔🤦🏼♀️ -

Propaganda! Talk about fear and manipulation . Caddelin, I thought the same `thing with the mirror trick ! So anyone with nice things should be killed by a loving God. But closet offices are rewarded for life. Slave for the publishing company. The wife's expression the whole time was unhappy and full of guilt trying to please everyone, her family, neighbors, congregation, husband, uncle, God. She needs counseling, not more meeting attendance. Or maybe anti-depressants - like jws seem to be taking at an alarming rate these days. Must be exhausting trying to be perfect. Oh ya and the Joe's family equating church with material status as if you are nobody to the church without funds....hmmmm can anyone say gramma empty fridge or no more ice cream for you little girl? I've attended churches that are as or more welcoming. I agree with the intelligent comments regarding the actual meaning of the wife of Lot phrase having nothing to do with the meaning ascribed here. The only connection ever made in my mind reading that actually originated with WT.
