How to explain the HYPOCRISY of the JW blood doctrine with out getting DFd?
by Crazyguy inthe jws since 1945 have taught that one should commit suicide and sacrifice oneself to god rather the take blood.
then in 2006 in an awake they said one could take hemoglobin even cow hemoglobin.
since hemoglobin makes up 96% of what a red blood cell is and 45% of the total volume of blood and is the key component of what makes blood work, how does one explain that this is obviously hypocrisy and do it in a way as to not get dfd?

Proof for the IMMORTAL soul triggered my doubt on JW teachings!
by abiather inonce i was talking to myself: religions are all about sacrifices (and rituals), viewing god as a means to get forgiveness of sins and material benefits, and bible is no exception.
yet the foundation of the universe is on the never-failing principle of cause and consequences, something which god will never violate.
forgiveness of sins is a violation of principle of cause and consequencessomething that bible itself ironically upholds in galatians 6:7 and in many other verses!

Need to vent: Wife just went in full cult mode, huge fight. she is so brainwashed
by goingthruthemotions inout of the blue my wife started to ask me about my feeling about the borg.
i told her i didn't want to talk about it...she persisted.
she already knows how i feel, i told her that my biggest beef is that they use mind control, and yep she went in to how i was an apostate and how she doesn't want to be married to an apostate.

25 Christian Greek Scriptures clearly state that Christians must witness for Christ, and yet Rutherford chose a single Hebrew Scripture to proclaim that Christians were to be witnesses of Jehovah, and re-branded them as such
So they can't be a witness of Jehovah AND a witness of Jesus? Why does it matter which name was chosen?

YAWEHLAND - Imagine a country where Jehovah's Witnesses are the majority
by EdenOne inin 2018, cyprus goes bankrupt (again).
many of its inhabitants, lacking jobs and prospectives of a better future, emigrate to more prosperous countries.
cyprus' society is on the brink of collapse.

Cyprus? The majority there are Greek Orthodox. Not sure if you know much about the followers of the Greek Orthodox church but they despise JWs. They would rather see their country bankrupt than allow more JWs into the country. In fact, they may hate them as much as they hate their Turkish neighbors.
Pick another country.

From Page 88:
"In March 1946, Nathan Knorr and Frederick Franz
from world headquarters visited the Dominican Re-

Je Suis Charlie
by Slidin Fast inthis incident in paris makes me feel absolutely furious.
yes i feel desperately sorry for the victims and their families no one should have to deal with that.
the thing that makes me feel absolutely incandescent though is the attack on freedom of speech and expression.

Religion is way past its use by date. Isn't it time it was banned? So called Christians were once just as violent as Muslims. They killed for their religion.
Maybe this is the one thing that JWs believe that will actually happen... the end of religion. -

2014 increase in Memorial Partakers to 14,121
by jwfacts ini have updated the article at memorial partakers with the figures released for 2014. no surprises here, it has risen yet again, this time by 6% over last year, and is now 14,121.. .

Therefore 54260 (60% of 90434) plus 52,465, plus 14121 already equals 120846
Why would you add the number of partakers from 1925 and 1935? Many of the 1925 partakers were probably still alive in 1935....

Does God's foreknowledge take away from free will?
by Christ Alone injust by knowing what will happen, that doesn't mean that we can prevent or cause something to happen.
my knowing that does not prevent them the free will of making the choice.. it's the same with god.
if god is not restricted to existence in the present, then the future is known by god because god indwells the future as well as the present and the past.

This is a fascinating thread.
If God can peer into the future and foretell events (and the Bible says he can), it is clear that whatever happens is going to happen. You cannot change it.
For those that continue to believe in God, do you believe that humans have free will? If yes, please justify. If your answer is no, then how can humans be held accountable for their actions and be judged by God?

New Understanding of Slave Class
by mrquik ingood morning all (good evening to those on the wrong side of the world);.
could someone explain the new arrangement with the "anointed"?
is anyone other than the gb in this class anymore?

There has been no change regarding the anointed but there is a new understanding of the Faithful and Discreet Slave. It did not exist in the 1st century. It has only been in existence since 1914 which means the slave has included Charles Taze Russell, Judge Rutherford, Nathan Knorr and the Governing Body members since its creation.
Yes, check out 15 July 2013 Watchtower.
Article titled 'Who Really Is the Faithful and Discreet Slave?'
"Who, then, is the faithful and discreet slave? In keeping with Jesus’ pattern of feeding many through the hands of a few, that slave is made up of a small group of anointed brothers who are directly involved in preparing and dispensing spiritual food during Christ’s presence. Throughout the last days, the anointed brothers who make up the faithful slave have served together at headquarters. In recent decades, that slave has been closely identified with the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses."

CREATIVE "DAYS" - What do JWs believe?
by Bloody Hotdogs! ina few weeks ago, i asked you to critique my website article on dinosaurs (http://www.jwbeliefs.com/what-do-jehovahs-witnesses-believe-about-dinosaurs/).
it was pointed out that much of what i wrote depends on the creative "days" being relatively short - something i believe jws teach.. after being prompted to review my conclusions/research, i was more convinced than ever that jws promote relatively short creative days.
the nail in the coffin was the teaching that day seven is indicative of the length of the other six days (i.e.

Science Was My Religion
"Furthermore, a creative day as understood by the ancients can mean an epoch of extended duration, in much the same way as the terms “period” and “era” are used by science in describing earth history. Thus, the Bible is not at odds with scientific findings. It indicates that the creative days lasted aeons. It does not support the conclusion of creationists who believe that those days were each 24 hours in length"

Does Science Contradict the Genesis Account?
"Contrary to the claims of some Fundamentalists, Genesis does not teach that the universe, including the earth and all living things on it, was created in a short period of time in the relatively recent past. Rather, the description in Genesis of the creation of the universe and the appearance of life on earth harmonizes with many recent scientific discoveries."
