In my dads congregation in Florida they actually have made up day planners and other organizational type paraphernalia. I just cracked up when I saw it. Maybe they should change the name Watchtower Borders Book Store, isn't that truly what they are a publishing house.
because of this college rule.
i know many family "hads" that have decided that they wanted to have their children go to school.
i know of some older ones that have gone to community college to get a degree so as to have a better paying job.
I guess the lawyers they use, and doctors they see, and wall street investment advisors they go to get thier expertise from the Watchtower. Who needs college!

i am sure alot of the parents of these kids did not go to college because of what the society preached.

Does anyone think that is maybe a better stance to take with JW's who might seem alittle tired of waiting for "THE END". I sneakly started saying to my dad about someone I know who is about thirty and they didn't go to college and things are tough for them. I said I can't believe anyone in this day and age wouldn't go to college. I kept go on and on about it and he said nothing!

It's funny to me to notice, for the most part JW's are such negative people. When I speak with my dad or brother who are staunch JW's the glass is always half empty. Everything is depressing. Do you think that changes when you get out, or do alot of those people stay that way? Were you that way when you were in? I was always a pretty upbeat person, but now when I look back I see myself as a real downer sometimes. Now I try to change a situation for the better instead of joining in on the negativity. Even through all the sadness I have been left with I try to find something good about most situations.
NOW FOR ALL THE WISE GUY REMARKS BEGIN..... (Oh like people starving, little kids beaten, old ladies shot for grogery money, soliders killed, and they go on and on..you can really find the upbeat part of all this)
no....i'm not tellin everyone to start goin to church....so get off my arse already!.
i did however find this article interesting.
it suggests that social interaction of anykind ( healthful i assume),....can be good a good thing.
I attend a great church. I am not sure what I believe, but all the people are great. There is one family who are EX-JW's and we love to talk about the lunacy of JW's. They serve bagels and Starbucks before and after service. My kids love going and hanging out with thier friends and playing football and stuff. It is a pretty great experience for us as a family. I have gotten into a great community service program in a very poor area not far from my town and love going to help people. I probably never would have gotten invovled if I didn't attend this church.
my god...wut a powerful movie.
i actually cried... i loved it... most movies about racism only look at black and white stereotypes...this adressed all races....and i love tha connections each main character had.
really good analytical points in an entertaining way...tha acting was excellent... anyone else see it and agree or disagree?
WOW! My husband and I finally sat down and watched Crash last night. What a powerful movie. I could barely fall asleep afterwards. Anyone looking for a excellent and thought provoking flick this is it. PC

first the actually facts about the watchtower, then some really helpful healing advice, and then just some everyday personal exchanges of conversation,wit , and just a friendly hi.
some times i just pop on to see what's going on, and then i'll click on a post and just laugh really loud and it kinda just makes my day.
after discovering this website a few years ago and first finding out the truth about the "truth" how so many here have helped people in away that is really quite extrodinary. First the actually facts about the Watchtower, then some really helpful healing advice, and then just some everyday personal exchanges of conversation,wit , and just a friendly hi. Some times I just pop on to see what's going on, and then I'll click on a post and just laugh really loud and it kinda just makes my day. There is really something to having (unfortunetly) a whole lot of people who really organically understand what your problem is. i think it says a lot about the type of person you are, or at least what kind of sense of humor you have, if you liked this movie or hated it.. so far, i've not met anyone who has been neutral on this movie - usually they either love it or hated it!
Absolutely loved it. My kids and I have watched a million times over and over. My husband could take it or leave it.
