hello all.. i am compiling information about jw's and former jw's who seemed to either have an extra sensativity toward demons, or who had outright experiences with them.
these experiences may include ambiguous contact as well, ie, "i'm not sure what the hell it was, but it was weird.".
what did you do during the experience to resist or make the demon(s) go away?.
I've had sleep paralysis, it's not unusual before an OBE.
Tell me Rem, are you one of those people that believe there is a 'perfectly logical' explanation for anything out of the ordinary? If so, I would use an old saying, "To anyone with faith, no proof is nessasary, for anyone without faith, no proof is enough." I give you first hand experiances and you reduce them to fit your small beliefs.

It's how these scriptures are misused, the empowerment talk that's the big problem for me. It was alright for us think for ourselves to become a JW but after that we are to surrender our critical thinking to the GB???

Like the others here, I can deeply relate to your situation and dilemma. My advise to you is, DO NOT HAVE CHILDREN UNTIL THIS IS COMPLETELY RESOLVED!!! That is unless you don't mind going from unhappiness to agony! Add to that having your heart RIPPED OUT when she walks out with the kids to 'protect their spirituality'!

Demonic harassment? Yes. Before, during and after, including the present.
As a child I would feel a dark presence around me from time to time. There were often times, when, while asleep in my bed I would be mashed into my mattress by a heavy weight, it felt very suffocating. As I got older, became a Witness, married raising children these occurrences were few until I started pursuing my long held interest in Out of Body Experiences. From that point on the harassment became and still is routine. I've had some fun and interesting experiences though and have NO regrets in pursuing my interests.
in about a month, i will be at a family reunion.
none of my family knows i am fading.
i was on the phone the other day and a family member asked me where my d.convention is and i (totally offguard) said "i don't know"...they replied: "shame on you"...yikes....yes, i am the youngest of the family, so hearing that made me want to just crawl in a "hole".... well, i need a strategy for how to answer any questions on the religious nature that they may bring up....i do not plan on disussing my fading process, i am not there to discuss it, but to have a "nice family reunion" (only 1 is not a jw---so she will never bring up anything in relation to religion).

You already know the outcome long term, but at the reunion I would play the game, acknowledge you should be doing/going/being more theocratic but you've just been sooo busy. They'll encourage you but then you'll need to gently change subject or else you'll be their ongoing focus.
Nobody likes to be shunned and that's what the future holds so you need prepare yourself for it.

You know the Witnesses are mislead and confused yet basicly good people. I wouldn't be the one to close the door on the relationship if I were you. A faithful Witness believes or treats every viewpoint of the GB as coming from God or His Son. That's a tough thing to overcome. I would do what they would do, plant seeds with brief facts and rhetorical questions, be patient, don't harp or be argumentative and live your life without worring whether they will or wont accept you. Don't shun them either. Your normalness may help them more than you know.

for example, esp, tarot, astrology, consulting a medium, spells etc.
however, if god created us, did he not give us the ability to develop and use such powers?

Your question and Thread are on my favorite subject and one that has caused me a lot of heat at the Hall. I do agree that we as humans have special powers given us by God. I don't agree that He punishes us for using them. As I see it, there is a clear division between occult power and our metaphysical ability. One is natural the other Satanic. One is agreeable to God one is not. I believe magic of all kinds, tarot, astrology and other forms of fortune telling and contacting the dead derive all their power from Satan and his Demonic followers. The term metaphysics means 'higher or after physics.' It is beyond what can be currantly measured or understood. I believe it is part of our created being. Telepathy, auroras and aurora reading, astral projection ( my personal favorite) and telekinesis are all part of our natural abilities, though underdeveloped in most of us. Our intuition is metaphysical. I believe our ability to 'know' when someone is looking at us is low level telepathy. I also think we're all greatly hindered because of our imperfection. I think too, that Jesus being a perfect man did many things we attribute to Holy Spirit that are natural for a perfect human to do.

have you gone and learned about other religions.
what do you feel is the purpose of life?
I stopped attending the Hall 2 years ago. The conclusion I came to is the Witnesses have the truth about God but that hasn't prevented them from behaving like a cult, narrow and controling. I still worship Jehovah but as an individual. I live be His standards not elitest humans.
