Pauls writtings are to be greatly scrutinized to separate his opinions from Christ's instruction, Matt. 24:15b. Jesus wants us to use our minds and think criticaly and not to have to be spoon fed everything, Matt. 16: 11.

Agreed, ancient Israel did too. They were at one time "God's Organization" and yet what did they do with it and to God's people?? What did Jesus say about those leading them and what ultimately happened to the Nation??? Were they approved by God or dis-approved??? If a blind man leads a blind man...
My advice to everyone is, "Worship Jehovah, but stay away from His narrow, manipulative, self-righteous, condesending and domineering Organization!"

after the usual claptrap and disclaimers (like how sometimes women have to substitute for baptized men in a congregation setting) - it concluded by saying women keep silent by "not raising argumentative questions that could challenge the authority of those who teach.

after reading the tragedy of puternut, i was thinking that perhaps it's time that the government took another look at what can happen when they allow religions like the jws, to cut off family members without a second thought.
surely someone's rights to have normal religions with their family should come before freedom of religion.
isn't it ironic that the gb fought so hard in court to obtain freedom of religion, yet their own members commit suicide when they try to express this very right.

Shunning as broadly applied by the Witnesses is scripturaly wrong, yet we all shun people we don't want to associate with. Techniquely speaking though, in todays world were emotions rule over logical reasoning, it could be interpreted as a form of Hate Speach or possibly a Hate Crime, which now-a-days is forbidden. A Class Action Suit might have a chance.
