What if you became very rich?

my husband and i was talking about this the other day.

what would happen if one became very very rich, and our jw relatives learned about it?

what do you think they would be saying, or thinking?

i just read that atleast 3 types of animal and plant life go extinct every hour.

global warming threatens the entire planet, crimes against women and children are at a all time high, honeybees dying off for unexplained reasons, the threat of nuclear war, the ravage of infectious disease.

The teaching of the Tribulation startingwhen World Governments crush and destroy World Religion I believe to be correct. IMO, everything before that time happens during "the Pangs of Distress" that Jesus fortold. If the WTS change that teaching I'm unaware of it...but it wouldn't surprise me.

It is aslo my opinion that the WTS has been lead by the Evil Slave ever since Russell died, so I would keep my association with the Organization limited as it is very narrow and controling ...like Israel was during the time of Jesus.

Anger at those who hurt or mislead us will not excuse us from ignoring God. We should all in a 'personal way' (not through any organized religion) stay close to God.

As for those choices He has made over the generations that we don't agree with and are unhappy about, we should honestly and respectfully express ourselves fully to Him about it in our prayers. He is our Father, we are His children...He will listen to us thoroughly and take it to heart.

Acts 5:42 (from house to house) OR (in private homes)

***i believe i have the correct scripture here but if i don't please correct me.

i have thought a great deal on this topic since i first read it in one of ray franz books isocf.. he had a section that dealt with the greek term translated "house to house" and compared it to other scriptures which contained the same greek phrase and showed that it was likely that it should be translated "in private homes".. now i know that some will make the point that "house to house" is a valid translation and from what i know (which is very little) cannot disagree.. what i can say though is that from my knowledge about life in this period and this area of the world and from my traveling to ruins of ancient citys i would have to agree with franz that the phrase "in private homes" makes more sense because preaching from "house to house/door to door" at that time period would have been extreemely ineffective.

preaching in a public square and then returning with interested ones to their "private homes" for further discussion would make more sense if one was to be effective.. from those with a knowledge of the time/place/culture that this scripture applies to, do you agree with me?

Acts 12:12 When he realized this, he went to the house of Mary, the mother of John Mark, where many had assembled and were praying.
Col 4:15 Give my greetings to the brothers in Laodicea, and to Nympha and the church in her house.
Philemon 1:2 to Apphia our sister, to Archippus our fellow soldier, and to the church that meets in your house.
Romans 16:5 Greet also the church that meets in their home.
1 Cor 16:19 The churches of the Asian province greet you. Aquila and Priscilla greet you heartily in the Lord, along with the church that meets in their home.

Jesus never taught anyone to establish a riged congregational structure. That began with Paul, an ex-Pharisee. The message of the Good News was to travel freely and w/o cost.

As for preaching house to house, I believe they did. But to use it as the PRIMARY means to reach people in today's modern world is a crime.

All the means of Mass Global Communcation should be utilized FULLY.

The Good News of Christ's message should be blanketing the earth touching people's hearts to accept God through His Son. Then as was done in the first century, let the congregations form and operate informaly in people's homes and spread into every part of the earth!

We know that is not what they mean, they just cannot openly say HELP OTHERS OBEY WHAT THE ORGANIZATION TEACHES even though that's what they really mean.

Concerning the Bible, it is clear to me that every expression contained in the bible is not the thought and command of God.

The elevation of the entire bible as the 'Word of God' has become a major source of inner conflict for anyone who wants to worship God in the fullness of Christian Freedom.

IMO, the bible 'contains' the word of God along with human reasoning. For instance, Proverbs 31: 6 and 7 is clearly just the 'opinion' of King Lemuel's mother and NOT an indirect Command from God in the form of a so-called "bible principle."

Teaching others to 'Obey the Bible' rather than to obey Jesus and His Father is to place unnessesary restrictions on them.

Hebrews 5:14
14 But solid food belongs to mature people, to those who through use have their perceptive powers trained to distinguish both right and wrong.

I agree with Paul only about half the time.

Here is an area where I agree with him...Critical Thinking!

Why must we love God?
Is it love if we must be commanded to love God?

I believe God is not different than us in heart and mind, so I see this commandment as an expression of extreme frustration on His part since Israel had never stayed faithful to Him thus showing a true lack of love for Him.

I have often voiced my complaint to Him in prayer about His "commanding" us to love Him. Its a poor choice of solution to His dilema.

6 months ago i was d'fd and i am right now confused as to what i want to do cuse i can put my letter in for reinstatement now but i just dont know if that would be the best desicion for me.

one side of me says go back to the jw org and do all that i can in the org so that i can make it to the paradise.

but then one side says just do what u want to do til u die.

Hi,

The best answer in the shortest form is keep your Personal Relationship with Jehovah strong through prayer and bible reading and STAY AWAY from His people. Though most are sincere, they are mislead and confused. Those so-called Faithfull Slaves are and have been 'lording it over' and abusing the congregation for decades.

The Witnesses today are the equivalent of the Jews during Jesus life on earth. They have the truth about God but do not live by it and worse distort it thus hindering others from having an approved relationship with Him.

Read and take very seriously the words and actions of Jesus recorded in the 4 Gospels.
