  A question about baptism

  this might sound silly, but it is something that bothers me.. for the longest time i had the desire to be baptized as a jw.

  recently, after joining this forum and doing a lot of reading around here, i have come to understand that there is a difference between being loyal to jehovah and being loyal to the wts.

  if i don't join the wts, then i will never get baptized, but people in the bible clearly got baptized.

  And now I almost feel as if there is no other place to go.

  Try the Bible Students.........alot of JW teachings without alot of the controlling bullsh*t. I think that there was a recent thread on this topic (sometime in the last week I think).

  You don't have to be a member of a church to get babtised. If that is all your after is getting dunked. All you have to do is talk to the pastor of just about any church and I am sure that you will find one that will babtise you.

  you don't have to be a JW to be babtised. Many many churches love to babtise people. If you believe Jesus is your savior they will probably be happy to babtise you. And they won't ask you the WTBS loyalty questions that the JW's do. they will ask you "Do you except christ as your savior?" You say "yes". Then your getting dunked.

  i have done up a letter to my ex asking him to cease & desist with cramming his "religion" down our sons throat and also to stop our son from calling his wife "mom" and other issues that he's in violation of our custody order with.

  it was a nice letter, i told him knock it off or we're going to mediation (in our custody agreement as well) to figure it out.

  this was at the advise of my attorney.

  Send it Registered and a signature required. That way if they breach it in any way they can't say they never got the letter. It would be your word against thiers. Always do legal documents this way so you have proof it was recieved.

  "Equilibrium" the movie is an example of the WTBTS

  there is a movie called "equilibrium" this movie is a prototype of being a jehovah's witness, in it there is a hierarchy that is a ruthless goverment and the spiritual source for all thought till a hero comes and awakens them.

  this is a must see movie for all witness's.

  i don't know, it just made me think of the witness's during all the time i was watching it.

  I started a post about this movie a week or two ago and thought I was the only one that had seen this movie. I liked it alot and the first part of the movie is the WTBS wet dream of how the world should be. The "awakening" of the main character could realy draw comparasons of someone waking up to the total BS of the WTBS.

  This movie touched me on a deep level and the action scenes where pretty cool with a fighting style called Gun-Kata (just the name gets the testoserone going). The emotional development of the characters are what realy stand out in this movie.

  This movie only had a small release in USA. I had never even heard of it untill it started to show on one of the movie channels recently. It did however have a wide release in the European market.

  my husbands grandmother as been diagnosed with full blown ovary cancer.

  they fear that she also has it in her stomach as well.

  they are trying to get her to the or tonight in order to operate on her right away.

  Mom slipped me an Awake magazine

  last week my mother gave me a woman's magazine that she had read at the home where she lives.

  it had organization tips and recipes she thought i would enjoy.

  i hadn't looked at it until two days ago, after she asked me if i had read it yet.

  I would scan through the original magazine the awake was in for conversation points and never mention anything about the Awake mag. Make her bring up her deception and then tell her you tossed the mag without even reading it.

  Are Dubs warned about JWD at Meetings?

  i havn't been to a meeting in years.

  i was just wondering if this site is talked about @ meetings, and/or in the publicatons.

  i'm sure reproof or disfellowshipping would be instant if a dub was found looking into such "apostacy".

  I've read it in quite a few posts comments about the WTS monitoring sites like this.. is this just paranoia on some members or is there any hard proof that they do come here?

  One poster has/had a court case with the WTBS and he claims that his posts here where presented to him in deposition hearings. I think that there are people that have been "outed" by being on this site.
