Heatmiser, I'm going to assume you've been an ironworker (assume I say) tell me, is it possible to connect steel without bolts? If so, how?
No I am not an iron worker, my stepdad was most of his life. that is the person that I was thinking you might know but he worked west coast all his life.
To answer your question. Yes it is possible to join steel without bolts, but in structural fabrication that is the most common (and most likely the best) as it is the cheapest way to go labor wise. Other ways to join steel are riveting. pins and welding (although I have never seen pins in anything but a temporary connection). I am not a structural expert and although you have a good deal of knowledge in building construction as an iron worker, you and I both know that the designing of structural joining is a whole special field all unto itself. My specialty is in Naval ships, so almost everything is of the welded variety in my field. Although Damage control isn't my rating, I do have extensive schooling on the subject of keeping the ship survivable with battle damage which includes structural failure and fire damage.
As to heat from the plane, I'm not an expert on that, are you
The simple question of what happens to steel in heat should be an easy question for someone with the amount of experiance you have as an iron worker. Plus this statement conflicts with this one:
My computer is acting up. Ok, for you folks who don't know about structural buildings let me shed some light. I've erected a number of skyscrapers and let me tell you, the weight, the thickness and the amount of bolts holding these structural pieces together is something to behold. All these columns are encased in concrete, another point to consider.
I had personal relatives erect the WTC. This building wasn't designed as a regular building. The middle core wasn't as solid as your normal structural building, this had trusses. I never thought the building would collapse in the manner it did. As a structural steelworker this wasn't the norm. This type of collapse had the makings of being bombed.
With all of your experiance I am shocked that you of all people would fall for this crap. WTC 1,2 and 7 all had unique design characteristics that along with damage and fire is what led to the collapse of these buildings. What happens when a truss fails? It sure as heck doesn't fall outward. It collapses inward. 1 and 2 failed in 2 different ways and when they did, the undamaged part of the building could no longer hold it's integrety as the damaged portion collapsed on it. Causing the floors pancacking onto each other in a cascading effect.
Why you don't beleive the engineers that designed the building and did the failure analysis is beyond me. Do you think that there was enough explosive charges place throughout 3 buildings to bring them down and NOBODY NOTICED? It would take MILES of DETCORD alone and hundreds of lbs (if not more) of explosives and NOBODY NOTICED.
I wasn't making a personal attack against your post and I am sorry you took it personaly. I have been following the conspiracy threads closely and no matter what evedince is presented that counters the conspiracy claims it gets blown off and called a bunch of lies. So I take it as my right to do the same to the conspiracy guys at thier own game.
