Thank you for that info, rebel. I agree that Press Releases are done by organizations for products and such which is why I'm putting out the feelers. A quick google search brings up a zillion "press release" sites and I was hoping to cut to the good ones to expedite my mission.
Not AP stuff here, but worthy of a bit of PR.
Thanks for your help!

You can get yourself cleaned, you can have a good meal,
You can do whatever you feel ...
Young man, are you listening to me?
I said, young man, what do you want to be?
I said, young man, you can make real your dreams.
But you got to know this one thing!
No man does it all by himself.
I said, young man, put your pride on the shelf,
And just go there, to the y.m.c.a.
I'm sure they can help you today.
It's fun to stay at the y-m-c-a.

Okay, so at least two things have changed about this organization:
1. It's a "family" place now and operates like a park district.
2. The programming there is "to build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all."
3. There's no food.
4. The membership fee is $35 a month to use the workout facility.
5. I didn't see any dancing police men, construction workers, or priests.

Every post I read on this discussion board impacts my thinking, attitude, understanding, and empathy to some degree.
I am constantly validated, challenged, and probed to reflect by the participants here. I am affected deeply by the courage, love, and compassion demonstrated by individuals here who are progressively healing, learning, and growing as human beings in a way that was never allowed in the JW environment.
Yes, dear poster, if I've read the words emanating from your heart, mind, and spirit, you've inspired me. And if I've engaged in PMs with you, you've walked along with me.

Wow, thanks for that, Gander! One of the questions I asked the man (a former YMCA board member) giving us the tour (and free visitor passes before I joined) was: "Do you have to be a Christian to become a member?" And he said, "No." I know it won't matter to JWs, unless a new QFR makes it a "personal decision." alias

--> My wife recently got DF'd for joining so I can attest that yes they are quite anti-YMCA.
Drew, are you kidding me? Was joining the YMCA specifically one of the DF charges? Is it considered "joining another religion?"
