Jehovah's Witness Oddities
by minimus ini now enjoy telling people about the things jehovah's witnesses can and cannot do.
for instance, witnesses can work in a store that sells lottery tickets and tobacco but they can't own the store themselves.....whole blood is forbidden to be transfused yet blood fractions are acceptable.
donating blood in any form is wrong but accepting blood fractions is a conscience matter.........can you think of other jw oddities????

Imprisonment without charge ... ever justified?
by Simon inis this ever a good thing?
even if people imagine that its justifiable does it ever have the intended effect?
experienced officers from northern ireland describe the internment without trial there as the biggest recruiting sargeant for the republican movement and a big mistake by the uk government.

any proof that the wtbts has stock in pm or are u referring to the privately held trust from which they receive an annual benefit?

eduardo is right - the assertion that the wtbts receives $ from PM is baseless - moreover, asserting that all $ from PM comes from tobacco profits constitutes an unwarranted and careless assumption - continuing to attack the wtbts in such a flawed way works to the organization's benefit because it can put the organization in the posture of a "victim" of hate-inspired persecution
nice reasoning eduardo - identifying the initial issue and recognizing the tangential one as well - cheers -

Do you ever DEFEND Witnesses?
by GetBusyLiving ini know i come on here a lot and laugh at the crazy stuff i used to believe.. it's a terrific place to vent my frustration at the org.
and share experiences with people who understand.
but i find that when some people trash talk witnesses who were never part of it i end up sort of defending them usually.

defend them from what - they don't need defending - they are pure and righteous - why defend them? - they have the truth - they don't need defending! - you'd be lucky to have a conversation with one of them good people - they have done no wrong unless "wrong" means strict adherence to Bible principles - defend them? - hell no - the chosen need no defending!

and its 'goodbye from him'
by dostprefer ini've taken a leaf from holly's book to thank your for having me on the forum - thirteen interesting days but came to realise one cannot achieve much speaking from behind a screen.
people do not know who you really are, nor do you they.
i read many of holly's posts but few others.

It's all the Jehovah's Witnesses Fault!!.......Or is it??
by ScoobySnax ini was just earlier reading holly's goodbye thread........what was good was to see alot on here wish her all the best in whatever path she chose to take.......nothing more, nothing less .i think that spoke volumes for the posters who wished these sentiments towards her.
to me it showed a maturity, a kind personality and to a greater degree, people that do genuinely care.
("good luck and we'll be here if you need us"....was a few of the replies from some) how refreshing that was!

"First off I don't believe a word you've said on any of your posts...I think it has all been an insidious attempt, ( a rather creative one though), to spout off your JW rhetoric, that has NO foundation in actual truth. Anyone that claims to have an open mind and does the fair and balanced research, with all you have at your disposal, would make the decision you have. Rest assured there is at least ONE person on the board who has seen through your ruse. I'd wish you good luck, but not only do you not believe in luck, but you obviously wouldn't know what to do with it if you had it."
yeah - i agree - an odd way off giving a witness - quite deceptive -
