The insight given regarding Bethel and how it was not some " Happy to Be There" work force. The labor camp that it truly is / was. The politicking that goes on in how the votes are cast regarding decisions made that affect the very lives of individuals. 3/5 rule? How those in the positions of power have sway over lives by just by shear fact that some not included just didn't show up to vote. There are those right amidst the hierarchy who don't support the decisions being made.

How many ex-JW's are musicians on here?

just wondering how many of us on here are musicians, what we play, and if we had witness bands and/or performed.

i have had quite a few funny moments of being in bands that wanted to be cool, but always had to nerf the edginess of any songs we played and watch the noise!

i played with different elders who loved to rock out, but when they played at a congregation party didn't even want to use overdrive of any kind!

No part of the world

be no part of the world.

friendship with the world is enmity with god.. perhaps it is some lingering indoctrination talking, but i dont want to be friends with most everyone i meet out there.

granted i work in a rough-neck environment and it is mostly through my employment that i come in contact with others, but im not like them and i cant see myself hanging out in their living rooms and i don't want their filthy mouths in mine.. i dont smoke, i dont cuss, i dont talk about pussy all the time (actually, none of the time).

Community is so important to the recovering witness. I don't have a slew of friends out in the world, however I do have a couple of folk, non witness, who help keep me grounded. The witnesses will never befriend you if your outside. To live out here totally on your own is a recipe for disaster. Proverbs 18:1 They're just people. Many of which I would trust more than those I've had occasion to at any KH. We share a mutual interest. Cars. I keep them as close as I can without trying to be over influenced by them, but they keep me honest. My stuff smells pretty bad, too.

Favorite games and toys as a kid

one of my favorite toys when i was a kid was my spirograph.

i don't know whatever happened to it but i wanted to get another one and didn't realize they didn't make them anymore.

i went on ebay and got a super spirograph (complete except for the pens) for a real good price ($30) - i hit it at just the right time since most are listed for $50 to $100.

Music I've done: what's to like and not to like? You can help...

i have been looking through the almost two thousand music files i've composed/arranged/performed (or just "covered") and have tried to come up with.

a listenable sample that almost anybody might appreciate.

well, music tastes being as eclectic and personal as they are--it ain't an easy task.. if i post some links i'd like anybody willing to wade through these (in your spare time) and let me know which ones you like and don't like.. simple as that, okay?.
