Is your life behind or ahead of you?

mrs eyeslice and i have a very close friend in the "truth" who has recently had a torrid time breaking up with her non-jw husband.

she has been very emotionally drained and down just lately, feeling she has nothing ahead of her.

but come on, she is only 38 years old, is a very attractive lady and has most of her adult life ahead of her.

Encouraging, because as I've looked back on all the energy spent, 17 years @ 13, getting in, a tour of duty of 2 years after having finally "Made Up My Mind" along with an additional 10 years on in-active duty assignment, at 45, life can have the tendency to look a little short, depression and mid life crissis of conscience can have a disasterous effect on ones ability to just stop,......and allow yourself to smell the roses, smell the coffee, just be OK with the universe and accepting the energy thats in it.

As I've gotten to this stage in my life, it has been a blessing to put a mandatory 15 mph restriction on my want and desire for racing around. Life is fast enough without having the need for always handling situations at 100 mph.

I've missed so much of the movie, so it feels OK to just walk away from the past and not feel I need to "Run Like Hell" away from it.

Why Is Alcohol "Good" and Marijuana "Bad"?

up until a short time ago (a couple of years maybe), insufficient research had been done on either of these drugs to say what the long term effects were.

only recently has it come out that certain kinds of alcohol (red wine etc) can reduce blood pressure.. so, with this in mind (the fact that they could actually be as bad or harmless as each other), why the heck is marijuana illegal and alcohol fine?.

The vaporizers issue. What an excellent way of extracting the active ingredients found in marijuana. I was encouraged. The mechanics and science that have gone into this is quite extravagent. I wish such technology was available in my days of P-Funk. It all sounds better than when it was our turn in the 70's but its yall's turn now and I graciously turn over the baton to yous'

Cannabutter, interesting.

I looked it up and I guess I've been in the dark for a while.

So much has changed since the 70's.

And the vaporizer, it sounds interesting as well.

Kinda' puts the "High Tech", in getting high.

These new concepts are not enough to make me a convert,

I am willing however to look through your window of perspective on the situation.

I respectfully disagree with your position, though you present an interesting perspective in defending your argument.

I was not looking at the smoking of marijuana from a medicinal standpoint. However, if thats where the thread had its basis, then I will research these points further, which have an interesting spin mind you, but as it appears to me at this point, is still spin.

All that I could become was a do gooder wanna' be. I could only be all that the society felt we should be. Perfect. You must be perfect as your heavenly father is perfect was all I could drum into my head. A human- doing less, than being human, by attempting to be so perfect.

Add to that a person already geared towards perfectionistic tendencies and you have a neurotic nightmare just waiting in line for the next available psychiatrist couch.
