I'm not torn in the least little way. We were always taught to listen for the "ring of truth." And there is no ring of truth in what is taught and done among Jehovah's Witnesses. So ironic.

I'm New Here.... Part 2
by ZeroKool29 inso, i got home from my tryst and sure enough, everyone knew all the details.
so a judicial comittee was set up.
i was accused of coercing a happily married woman to drive 8 hours to spend 4 days with me in various hotel rooms all at her husband's expense.

I'm New Here...
by ZeroKool29 inmy friend, smoldering wick, informed me of this board and this is my first time here.
so, thank you for having me and also, please bear with me as i am sure i can be pretty long winded about things.
now that that is out of the way i would like to take some time to get down in writing some things that have been on my mind for the past year and some change.

What Is The Stupidest Rule You've Encountered As a Witness?
by minimus inone rule that i never could understand is that if you were studying with an unbelieving husband, you could associate with him, even as couples, but if a person was considered a "weak" witness, it was best to avoid any association until that person changed......what dumb rule or belief comes to your mind??

I forgot to mention the new rule they laid down that ticked me off, just before I left - one of the minor ones, not the huge, mean ones - they declared a ban on "tailgate parties" at the conventions and assemblies, whatever those are; they said we could not eat lunch in the parking lot out of the back of our SUVs or whatever - that it smacked of the world.
HOW STUPID. We had to eat somewhere and weren't supposed to go off site. And eating inside is stuffy and it makes a mess.
Again, HOW STUPID. Sounds like Jaracz.

I love this thread! I hadn't forgotten how much I DON'T want to be one of Jehovah's Witnesses, but I had kind of forgotten how infuriatingly ridiculous and controlling they are.
Reading these reminders has actually made me mad again.
But that's good.
And besides, I was born mad, and I have a relapse daily.

generation change
by littlemike inhello this is my first topic on this forum.. i left the jws 18 months ago and am still recovering.
it was after reading crisis of conscience that i was brave enough to leave although i had serious doubts before i was always scared in case it was right!!
and i was wrong.. however when they changed the generation in 1995 that caused me great trauma as i had accepted that as absolute fact and based my life on it.

Hi littlemike,
When I became fully aware of the generation change, along w/ the changes on blood, I realized that the Society doesn't know what they're talking about! When I realized that, I lost all confidence in all their teachings, lost all respect for their authority in my life, and stopped attending altogether.
I've never been happier.
Hope you stick around and associate with us.
